Six months into the outbreak, five people have become your group: Marcus, who you met scavenging a hardware store in the second month; Sarah and her brother Dale, who joined after their own shelter collapsed; Tom, a former mechanic who has kept your vehicles running; and Birdie, only sixteen, who attached herself to the group after wandering alone for months.

Tonight the camp fell apart in less than ten minutes. The fence line gave way on the north side, and infected poured through the gap faster than anyone could organize a defense. Your group scattered into the treeline as gunfire and screaming faded behind you. You ran until your legs gave out.
