Behind-the-Scenes / Prompt, Sheet, and Vid. (NSFW)
I thought it would be fun to show how the same video concept comes together in two different AI video platforms: Seedance 2.5 and H3.
Once I have the basic idea, I usually begin with a character sheet. This is Callie—you may recognize her from a few of my earlier videos, most recently the catwalk video from two or three weeks ago.
My characters originally had a more animated style. Over time, I’ve gradually pushed them toward the realistic mixed-reality look you see in my newer videos—less “cartoon character dropped into the human world” and more like they naturally exist within it. For this experiment, though, I decided to bring back this particular version of Callie.
There’s a popular AI video trend in China right now where someone behind the camera points at a dancer and seemingly controls her movements with their finger. It looked like a perfect concept for testing how two different models interpret the same interaction.
I've included the original Seedance 2.5 prompt here on my Pastebin page if you want to give it a try!
For the second version, I translated that prompt into language better suited to H3. Interestingly, increasing the step count and output resolution didn’t improve this particular interaction. In my tests, the finger and Callie’s movements became less synchronized at the higher settings. My suspicion is that the larger render gave H3 more spatial information to manage, making the very precise relationship between the two moving subjects harder to maintain.
I can’t say for certain that resolution was the cause without running more controlled tests (my GPU is crying), but it was a good reminder that higher settings don’t automatically produce better prompt adherence.
The finished comparison is below, along with my findings. It’s a neat example of how “more” doesn’t always mean “better” with AI video. Sometimes the simpler render follows the idea more faithfully.
