TimeStop Isekai V0.1.4.5 Progress

Hello Everyone! How are you all?

It's been a while since the last release, and I just wanted to share my progress on what I've been doing and some such. To be fair, a lot of it is hard to actually show progress for since it's mainly been bug fixes and improvements based on feedback on f95. And those will be more felt rather than seen. I've also made a lot of optimizations and improvements to the game systems, getting rid of dead code, and a lot of messy functions and systems. Overall, they should operate a lot more smoothly, and be easier to work on.

But that doesn't mean much to most people, so for the more concrete stuff...

I've been redoing the clothing system. There was a lot I wasn't happy about with it. When I first released the game, there were a lot of placeholders, with lots of (pretty much only) modern clothing, which didn't match the vibe or lore of the game. Very few of them had actual art, and a lot of thing were missing. So, I'm now working on fixing that. Initially, there were about 70 clothing items in the game, and only like 30 had art. After I'm done with this, which should take me around another week or so, there'll be around 300 clothing items (I've already made the items, and it's mainly art assets I'm working on) with art. I also decided to better split them up and improve how they're sorted and divided by race and social class.

I created a sort of culture system for clothing, where clothes are split by race, then subcultures within that race, with a social class variable to clothes (which is mostly for an easy split once social class is actually implemented). I've also implemented materials for clothing (as well as character bodies, but haven't had enough time to flesh that one out. But... slime girls soon?), with different prices and effects depending on the material it is made of.

As for the image, these are already the ones in my working copy of the game. And it takes a bit of time to do since I need to manually set up masks for the items so they dye properly in game.

As for other things, I've made some more UI changes to improve readability of a lot of things. So yeah... I'll be working on the art for now, and move on to items after I finish the clothing, and then status effects once all those are sorted out.

This seems like healthy progress in the development. Thanks for taking care of these backend processes early so that this doesnt end up like Lilith's Throne where that dev keeps wanting to add things, but the code is so broken that everything they try to add breaks 5 different things just for one more piece of clothing. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! I plan to do a code review and improve modularity and just audit things about once every month. It hurts having to dig through complicated code and pray doing something works🤣
