EARLY Access: Shawn Ryan at SIG HQ
Shawn Ryan spends a day at the SIG Sauer Academy, running through vehicle-based shooting courses and testing how rifle rounds perform when fired through a windshield. He also gets hands-on with the new Gen 3 SIG 516 rifle and puts it through its paces on the range.

The first 45 seconds and editing are killer. Whoever handled production deserves a ribeye. Great look at the Gen 3 SIG 516, vehicle work, and windshield ballistics. Kudos to Drew for giving the audience a master class while Shawn got a refresher. Quiet professionalism. De Oppresso Liber. 🇺🇸
I’ll be sure to pass your compliments along to the chef!
I had the pleasure to spend 3 days there in February. Everyone there LOVES their job, and it shows! Was fortunate enough to get the factory tour too! Jason's Right Hand Gal (Heidi), is genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever met.
I've gone through the vehicle shoot inside and exit, along with CQB/force on force/two story shoot house. These classes really give you a small taste of real world situations and scenarios my blood was pumping for sure.
Wish I had a friend like Jason. 😕
The next time the VE Team is having a Fun Field Day at Sig and need someone to carry the camera equipment or any luggage, I am available and will gladly clear my schedule to assist.
So cool!!!
Very cool. Thank you for sharing. I may have to look at the SIG rifles. I have a few of their pistols and love them. Being 80 yrs old now, I've been stuck on Colts, S&W, Walther, etc.
Gee I feel much better now. I’ll turn 70 in eight months.
Sweet hybrid - Nice work SIG - Thank you!!!
Very nice. Looks like a fun day!
What fun!
Wait till you see what else we filmed!
You lucky dog. Good to have friends like that. Stay frosty
Jason's a good friend!
Now that’s a true life game changer
I’ve done five advanced instructor level courses at the Sig Academy between 2012 and 2017. Bullets on Vehicles was a favorite. But I liked the CQB Point Shooting was cool too. I did an advanced instructor level course at the Sig Sauer Academy in 2017 called Point Shooting where we used Sig Pistols that had the sights removed. this particular drill had partners together on the firing line. One designated the good guy and the other the bad guy. Bad guy draws first. There’s a mirror angled between the pair so the good guy can see the bad guy start his draw. The good guy must draw and put four rounds on steel AND drop the head plate first, to win the round. If you’re fast enough to also drop the other guy’s head plate, that’s bonus points. I had shooting glasses with a camera in the nose bridge. I’m the shooter. https://youtu.be/ijYf4ZBjNQY?is=f0cIm-yy_hpw8nV1
Nice, nice. Thanks for sharing!
