TrueFoot v1.4 TU 1.6.6 — FC 26 Realism Gameplay Mod: Harder CPU

★ Updated for Title Update 1.6.6 — Please update the FIFA Mod Manager to version 2.1.0

1.3 spent its time on keepers and defenders. This one puts the CPU back in the middle. The smarter, more aggressive CPU attack a lot of you rated as the best part of 1.2 got dialled back a little in 1.3 — so it's back and playing a tougher game, with the new touch, weak-foot and aerial work layered over it.

To be straight about it: after 1.3 a lot of you said 1.2 simply played better, and that feedback is what this build is built around — the 1.2 feel back, with the parts of 1.3 that worked kept.

One note up top: a game-speed difference some of you felt between Kick-Off and Career mode was smoothed, so the two should sit closer whichever mode you load into.

First touch and weak foot

  • First-touch error softened so elite and technically clean players stop feeling clumsy on a normal reception.

  • Hard and lofted receptions smoothed, without gluing the ball to the foot.

  • Dribble error separated more by quality; sprint dribbling rebalanced so a mistake still matters without becoming constant.

  • Weak foot relaxed for 3, 4 and 5 star shooting and passing. 0-2 star stays restrictive on purpose.

Finishing

  • 1.3 raised shot weight but left shot error alone. This build goes after the error.

  • Shot error is less extreme when it happens, especially for good finishers, so a good striker should bury more of the chances he ought to.

The CPU

This is the centre of the update. The CPU attack and challenge from 1.2 is back, playing a tougher, more human game.

  • Safer choices under pressure instead of blind dribbles or loose passes out of trouble.

  • Build-up support widened with more short outlets and combinations.

  • Wide runs opened up — overlaps, underlaps, diagonals.

  • CPU skill moves switched off; ordinary dribble, turn and shooting stay on.

Team quality

  • Stronger sides feel it on the ball: passing, vision, control, reactions, finishing, long passing.

  • No artificial pace boost — none of it touches sprint or acceleration speed.

Crossing balance

  • 1.3 whipped crosses in harder; this follow-up reins in the spin that got a bit exaggerated, so a delivery still bends dangerously without arcing like a banana.

  • Box tracking was tightened around cutbacks and late runners, so fewer men are left completely free in front of goal.

Defending and keepers

  • No fresh overhaul here — the calmer 1.2 shape is the base, deliberately lighter than 1.3's heavy defensive and keeper passes.

  • One step-up detail was refined so a defender stepping to the ball doesn't leave the runner behind him unattended.

  • The keeper balance from 1.3 was held, not rebuilt: low-rated keepers keep their fairer shot at a save, elite keepers keep their edge.

Smaller things

  • Kick-Off and Career should sit closer in tempo now (see the note up top), so the game shouldn't feel noticeably quicker in one mode than the other.

  • Fixed the D-pad tactical suggestion glitch (No Suggestions Available) while the mod is active.

  • Physical contact is still being calibrated in the background.

Updated Motion add-ons

  • Motion (Light) and Motion+ now do more than lift sprint speed.

  • Both also raise jockey speed, normal jogging and dribble-jogging toward the default game.

  • Motion (Light) is the smaller step, Motion+ the clearer increase. The base mod's tempo is unchanged.

  • Turning, ball-control identity, passing ball speed and defensive AI are not touched by either option.

Load order: add-ons go below the base mod. The bottom mod wins, so it overrides.

Team sheet: Custom gameplay, Authenticity OFF, sliders 50/50, Referee Default. New for v1.4 — turn Player-Based Difficulty ON for the tougher CPU, and drop CPU Skill Move Frequency to 1 so it plays clean football. Weather and Wind are your preference now (Weather ON if you want the wet-weather ball physics). Base mod first, add-ons below it. Full guide: https://truefootmods.com/install

Free as always and still a work in progress. Thanks for keeping this going — come talk in the Discord, that's where the next build gets shaped: https://discord.gg/ZWz3frdpbV

The trigger rate for players' falling‑down animations is unrealistic and excessive. All other aspects are excellent, even surpassing Anth James.
