Off Topic: RIP Tim Curry ๐Ÿ’”

This isn't about The Sims 4, so feel free to scroll on...

Many of you probably don't know that I was a Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast member and performer for over a decade. I primarily played Frank N Furter, Tim Curry's role. Tim had been an inspiration for me since I first saw him playing Rooster in Annie in 1982. If I had never joined my Rocky Horror cast, I would not have my career or my family. It's been either the catalyst for or an integral part of everything that's happened in my life since late 2006.

So when I heard today that Tim had passed, it hit me hard. I know I never met the man, but he had such an outsized influence on my life that today I am definitively NOT ok.

I just want to say RIP Tim. You were an absolute icon. You inspired us to live our truths. We love you and always will. You will never be forgotten.

I had never heard of audience participation at a movie theater until my college roommates took me to see Rocky Horror Picture Show back in the early 80s. Other than the "wink wink nod nod" of movies like "Some Like It Hot" with Tony Curtis, Bob Hope and Marilyn Monroe, it was my first introduction to the true idea transsexuality. I had so much fun and have been a devoted fan ever since. I had a little crush on Tim Curry back in the day have followed his career over the decades. During Spring Break, I'd go home and dance with my little sisters. I'm sure they thought I was crazy but they had a ball. Later when I got married and had kids, it became a Halloween tradition to throw popcorn, shout at the tv and hold a newspaper over our heads to block the rain. In 2019, when my youngest went off to college, I was a little surprised and glad to find that the The Rocky Horror Picture Show tradition lived on. She participated in a few stage productions. So Rest in Peace Mr. Curry and thanks for bringing a new kind of fun into my life.
