Weekly Dispatch and Discord server

Welcome authorized sinners!

We finally have a Discord — link

I’ve set up all the integrations Patreon provides automatically, so hopefully they won’t start behaving strangely over there.

I’ll be posting a bit more often on Discord, including more raw, work-in-progress stuff, so there’ll be more things to check out between updates.

This week, I worked on three events. The first two are reworks of older ones to bring them up to a better standard. Spoiler: the Black Market event will no longer be just a simple question-and-answer sequence — after all, that’s not really what this game is about. The third one is a small new event.

As you can probably tell from the screenshot, I’ve moved away from Ren’Py’s default menus and say screen a bit. This lets me dynamically show whether certain perks or stats affect your choices, add more tooltips to buttons for those who want to dig into the details, and, well, it just looks more stylish.

Overall, I still need to finish a couple more events, one of which is quite large, improve the consistency of the combat art, and properly display some effects that currently aren’t visually represented. After that, it’ll be time to put the build together.

The build stage is actually the hardest and most exhausting part :D

P.S. If for some reason the discord bot doesn’t give you the role, just message me and I’ll assign it manually.
