The Brobecks: Not Dead Yet takes a nostalgic look at the early 2000s through the lens of an old VHS handycam. A group of young friends from a small Utah town formed a band with little more than ambition and a love for music. Despite their inexperience, The Brobecks self-recorded and released several albums that gained a loyal following before disbanding shortly after. Twenty years later, their music has found new life, and the members of The Brobecks have each carved their own unique paths to success, revealing the unpredictable journey of life and art.

Genuinely such a fantastic insight into what made you guys. I'll never stop advocating for my band to open for you guys if you ever do a comeback tour and make a stop in Scotland!
Thanks! I’m not sure we’ll ever make it out that way, but if we do… you never know. I do love Scotland, I spent a few months in Glasgow and Inverness a decade ago. Cool places.
I just randomly found out IDKHOW by youtube algorithm, and then as i look into it, i found The Brobecks and literally blew out of my mind listening to you guys. It was a big regret of me not being able to come to The Brobecks reunion show, then Not Dead Yet came out and i know i have to watch it. Thank you for making this Matt, it makes me feel like i've been there with you guys. 100/10 would watch again if you ever rent this out again <3
Well, I’m glad you found us and I’m glad you enjoyed the documentary. There will be more opportunities to watch the documentary in the near future!
This band has been one of the single greatest musical influences for me. I NEED to see something about the making of the Violent Things album
As far as I know, there's no behind the scenes footage from the making of that album, so I think it's creation might just have to live on in our imaginations!
Finally watched everything and you really made it feel like we were there with you... this isn't just a documentary it's a time machine you gave us. I love it.
Well thanks!! Now I can go back in time and solve crime!!!!! In my Time Machine!
THE documentary ever
ThankYah
this absolutely ruled, matt glass great job
Thanks, Bartis!!!
As someone who discovered The Brobecks through Dallon’s work elsewhere, there’s always been an intrigue around the story of the band and where everyone went. I really enjoyed seeing where you all started and how the band came to be, as well as a glimpse into what you’ve all been up to since. I think a lot of us who have been following Dallon for a long time really just knew his angle from the few things he’s shared over the years, in particular how he almost quit music altogether after things kinda died down. Like a lot of people nowadays, when I find art that really resonates with me I really want to understand the full picture around what that thing is and where it came from. I think The Brobecks has been this kind of mystery that people have wanted to unravel for a while now, and it was really special to watch you guys tell the story firsthand. Thank you so much for making this. Also, the shots at the end of you guys making music in the present day with clips from the first two albums in between - that bit was emotional. Seeing you having the same kind of fun working together 20 years later is really cool and a good reminder that ‘endings’ aren’t always permanent. Will definitely be watching this many more times.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. You never know when something you did once for fun a long time ago might end up mattering to people in the future. And even if it doesn’t, it’s good to remember that it mattered to you.
God, the brobecks really impacted my life more than any other band id say; they got me into the emo scene (alternative in general) and since then has also gotten me through alot of tough times. Being from utah its a great place but not super accepting of "weirdos" particularly so to find out my favorite band was from there definetly helped me come out of my small town shell in highschool. I was bummed I missed the premier but the show was great, and now I get to see the doc too! Theyve been my number one artist every year for probably 5 or 6 years and has been my biggest insperation creatively, anything I could possibly say about the brobecks probably wouldnt do them justice. Thank you for the amazing documentary and largely overall art youve contributed to the world!!
On behalf of the Brobeck foundation, I thank you for watching and being a top listener!
Absolutely amazing, beautifully made. The contrast of the ‘better than me’ performances at the end made me tear up. Thank you so much for letting us watch this, I can’t express how great this is. Sending so much love from the UK.
I’m very glad you’re able to see it. Happy all the international folks can watch!
Incredible doc, saw it at the premiere and have been itching to watch it again ever since THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for the double watch!
Absolutely amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing this work of art with us. Been listening to the Brobecks for close to 10 years now and your band holds such a special place in my heart and my life. Loved learning more about the history and development of both the band and the friendships within. Can't wait to hear the new songs (hopefully soon) and will patiently await anything else you guys have to share :)
Thanks, Lars! Yes. Hopefully new songs will release soon!
Thanks for the Opportunity to star in this:)
Thanks for being in it!!
I have to thank you for putting this to general public. I'm from Mexico so when I discovered you guys were going to perform in SLC and premiere this piece of art (I'm obsessed with the 100000/10 editing, coloring and panels) I got SUPER sad, like, REALLY sad lmao. The Brobecks has been part of my life since I was around 15 (now I'm 23 😭) and I don't know how to explain it without being weird but your music impacted my whoooooole life, I even use the phrase "I'd be a punk if my mom would let me" as a personal tag. (and I also have to add that one of the main reasons I learned english was because of you, I wanted to understand EVRYTHING you were saying). The thing is, I'm so happy you all are still friends, having fun and sharing your memories with us. This is the best purchase of my life! 👾
Thanks, Karla. I’m glad you were able to watch this and enjoy it!!

Ooh nice. Which songs are you covering?
This is awesome!! You guys were the soundtrack to my high school years, im so glad the brobecks are back :)
We’re glad about it as well!
so glad I got to finally see this! The Brobecks have and always will be very near and dear to my heart
Happy you got to watch it!!!
My boyfriend and I have been waiting for this since it was announced - so worth the wait! Thank you for the hard work on it :)
Thank you both for watching!
spotted myself at stage left barricade in a few of the impending gloom la shots :’)
Nice! I did a lot of sneaking around that night.
I’m going to be so annoying to everybody around me about this. I can’t wait, thanks Matt!!!!
Yes, please demand that everyone you know watch this!
The editing on this is absolutely everything!! I'm so glad we got to see all that old footage, I think it gave me a better understanding of the friendship from back in the day as well (a better understanding of the Brobecks if you will). It was really neat to get a glimpse into how everyone's life is going nowadays. This is more of a side note, but I loved the comparison of the old shots of different places and the new shots.
Thanks for watching! There used to be even more of those Before/After style shots, but I left in the most interesting ones.
So excited to watch this again and again!!!
Yes and yes and yes...
