Who and Why?

To be honest, Harold and Spencer share the same spot in my heart, but if I had to choose only one, that would be my beloved Papa Bear. That man won my heart when I first started reading ExCA, first because of his looks, of course, cuz I love a big and strong bear, but soon as I started reading, and when the new udpdates came, I just fell in love with him I relate a lot to his problems, at least some of then, so, this made things easier for me to get more and more invested on his route. He deals with a lot, and sometimes, he seems to be a lot, but not to me, cuz he's just a man who needs and deserves help, support and love, and I'm ready to give it to him, like someone else did to me when I needed it too I just love the way you write them, how him and MC work around their issues, also how dumb they can be while in love, cuz I still don't understand their line of thought during certain parts of the route haha I remember when I first finished all the updates you had posted, which wasn't a lot at the time, I couldn't bring myself to read the other routes, cuz I didn't want to leave my Papa Bear alone with his problems. Took me a few months to try Spencer's and Darius' cuz of that hahaha So, yeah, the big, sweet, handsome, strong and lovely bear, Harold Grifter, is my favorite ❤

I don't think I mentioned it when I responded first, but the "will you be my boyfriend" conversation that everyone else had somehow ascended Darius beyond my wildest expectations. I'm actually damn near in tears over this one admitting that he's finally caught the dreaded feelings. He's not the smoke show that Richard or Chester were, he doesn't have the innate advantages that Harold (fat bear) and Spencer (best friend) have, and he's not the sheer beefcake that Dozer and Dwayne are. But I've been supporting this story off and on for most of the development cycle and he's mostly just a headache when he's onscreen. Seeing him come around on this is...special. I noted your parting message that he was a pain to write for as well lol. I have a feeling I know why you wrote him to be so...forceful in other boyfriend's routes, but I'd like to hear your own reasons for making Darius the way he is.

My favorite character would have to be Spencer. Because of all the little things that he does, like how during his route he is the one that helps the player in both getting him a job and a place to stay so much faster than most of the other guys, and not to mention just how much of a needed pillar of support he is to the player on all the routes, because of that, I can really feel just how strong the connection between the two of them is and just how much he truly cares for the player, even when playing through the other guys’ routes. Then even beyond that connection, there were so many other little things that I just found cute about him, from how nervous he was to open up and admit that he was gay at the beginning of his route to the fact that he’s able to top or bottom, how playful he could get when he could finally relax and be just himself, or even just seeing that big adorable smile he gets by being with and talking to the player; all of it made him just feel so irresistible to me that he jumped all the way up to my number one favorite spot.

Harold is, and continues to be, my favorite part of ExA. He is adorable, sexy, and down to earth with just the right level of believability in his writing and character. There are a few times in the main story and the epilouge that I just want to hug him. A close second would be Chester as he is just a loveable dork and I wish I had a friend like him in real life. That isn't to say the other characters aren't well written; I just gravitate toward these two characters over the others. Spencer has a wonderful story but the jealousy and best friends to lovers trope never works for me, Richard is a doting father with a kinky streak that is just sexy, Dwayne is loveable and Dozer is just a big strong Kaiju softie (still haven't played Darius' route). Your characters are crafted in a way that feel very real and I love love how the dialouge (both internal and external) flow with the story beats showing enough without being info-dumps. I love the entire package but Harold will always take 1st place for me

I became obsessed with Dozer the first time I saw him in the game, and he was the first I romanced to completion. While Richard is an absolute close second, since both options are highly sexual with a dominant streak that gets me every time, Dozer's kinky side gets me in more ways than Richard can. I also adore his growth as a character plagued with these emotions over years of trauma he'll finally come to terms with over the course of his route, his openness with the MC once he's comfortable to do so is refreshing, and the option of seeking a third with Chester matches my polyamory. Plus, he's a big and lovable kaiju, and I'm a scalie at heart, so I can't help but be enamored with that giant komodo.

I cant decide between Chester and Richard! Chester is a big gamer boy dreamboat that I would love to game with in a cuddle, and Richard feels like more of a simple yet spontaneous good time!

If I had to pick one I think it would be Spencer. I like the wholesome vibe he gives off and the way he is hiding his feelings at first just reminded me of myself in some ways. Plus I really like that he is so collected at times, being quite the opposite of me and I would assume I’d need someone like that irl too :)

The guys all have various kinks, behavior and/or characteristics that got me to loving them. Dwayne's openness, Darius's low key Random act of kindness and Dozer's hidden aggressive kinky side. Now for someone outside of EXCAs, Paws down Legosi from Beastars. His selflessness for protecting Els in the very first episode. That show me something about him that got me endeared to him.

Went into ExCA excited for coach (just love the bear body type) but found myself unexpectedly falling head over heels for Spencer. Something about his sort of anxiety really resonated with me, the idea of pining after his friend for such a long time and keeping secrets from both his friends and family to keep up this "perfect" appearance he has. It was really moving to watch him grow from that and watching his relationship with Eric bloom.

Richard and Dwayne, because they're so forward. I like forward folks. I get all in my head and shy/nervous.

Spencer, I'm honestly just a huge fan of the best-friends to lovers trope of story. I also like the bit more slow pace of his route compared to others, it feels like a deeper focus on the relationship itself and discovering more about someone you've known most of your life. Also the the lil reminders that he is in love with you in other routes is a nice touch that does make feel a bit bad. apologies to Dozer I was just too curious what would happen with Spencer to get the good ending the first time around lol

Believe it or not, Daniel. That passage of him drumming while mouthing the words to the song on the radio of his car gave me such a distinct visual and I was sold immediately. I'm glad he's gotten a good story as a side character. For the actual MAIN cast, Harold was my first play-through and holds a special place in my heart as a bi man suffering from similar mental turmoil; but, Spencer is probably my favorite dateable option. He's charming and his side plot in Darius's route made me fall for him even harder.

Chester bc i need a big Tauren king to love me and make love to me. Second is Richard, bc I love his dad energy. And I guess i have a thing for Horns :)

Spencer. The entire story is adorable fluff and reminds me of my current husband (who also played the game with me ^^) and how we came to be. It's wild how much I related and loved his story.

Harold, I love everything about him :3

Harold has always been the one I've been drawn to. He's charming, intelligent, and I just think he's neat!

Harold! Love the bi and fat boy rep! Plus he’s a total cutie and has never done anything wrong is his life. Chester is a close second, he’s basically me lol

Darius is 1, He's a really funny guy like myself, throwing out the hints and suggestions. Love the tough guy and how venerable he is inside. Harold 2, Love the Care Bear Dad vibes he gives, keeping me happy and making sure I'm alright. Spencer 3, LOVE him! Smart, sensitive, protective, and with a hidden kinky boy. Richard 4 Chester 5

Darius or Spencer. Darius is the best-written route for sure, on first playthrough his defenses make him seem like the callous cad he's pretending to be, before those defenses gradually crumble to reveal a sensitive, lonely boy scared to show any vulnerability... but on a replay all the signs of that are so artfully and subtly woven in from the start, it's like a completely different story! While Spencer's boy-next-door story gives that warm fantasy of someone who knows you all the way down to your roots and loves you with every fiber of their being

My top picks are Harold and Richard. I love these two DILFs for many of the same reasons people have already commented about them. I love bears and didn't know I had a thing for Rhinos until Richard came along. That they are secret BFs in Dozer's route makes me want to see that story fleshed out. AU? Hint, hint—Dyne.

Tricky to say who my favourite is yet. Both Spencer and Darius hit my spots. I like a smart waggy tail boy who knows how to dance and I like a lion who enjoys being the mane star and yet able to open up and show his more sensitive side. Outside of exca amicus and rannok excite me but part of that is the bond formed through shared trauma. I need them. And im a sucker for a nice guy in a tough situation.

Spencer is my favorite, because Husky is my in number one in my top furry species and i like his personnality, good at what he do and not being arrogant. And i liked his route. and you're VN is in my top 3 VN in second position.

Harold because I have a thing for older guys and bears but I also find his his caring, loving nature so heart warming. I can also relate to his depression and his love for fantasy and DnD (I mean LnL). I also have a soft spot for Richard. Aside from being real kinky DILF material his sense of humour, passion and heart is a big plus for me.

Chester is my forever favorite dream guy back when i was in college i vibed with the lonely nerd who was a sweetheart its silly to say but it didnt feel like eric X chester it felt like ME and chester the relationship felt real i didnt feel so alone anymore. I appreciated the route wasnt afraid to go into dark places and bring up trauma and bullying and it showed me that people can always be around to support heal and defend (side adendem the huge dick and kinky side was a hot bonus XD) Ik u said one character buuut i definitely loved harold just as much (first route) he definitely gave me a nice mini father figure and not to mention he helped me understand and work on my depression I was terrified when a certain someone came into the picture and honestly i my heart raced through that entire episode glad justice was served in the end and its nice to see that even when an ending isnt...PERFECT theres still alot of good that can comr from the ashes :) thank you for making this masterpiece of a VN

Darius. My reasoning might be silly and complicated. So been through some serious trauma and turned off my emotions effectively. When I read Darius' rout, the ending made me absolutely bawl... Ugly crying. After that, for some reason, my emotions turned back on, and it made me feel things I hadn't felt in almost a decade, it allowed me to improve my relationships, it allowed me to accept love again. His character rout made me feel the ups and downs, it had me laughing, concerned, and happy crying. I also have a very complicated relationship with my Dad about being gay. So ya

for me, it's Darius. honestly, i just plain like the horndog type that he is. that he also gets imo the best route for plot and character development is just a bonus.

I've been completely infatuated with Chester since the early days. It's a combination of his friendly attitude and his unabashed nerdiness with his...assets. Everything is so perfectly complimented it's hard for me to stand dating anyone else (at times). I often find myself frustrated at Eric not being a bit more forward with him though haha. Dozer sure didn't waste any time~ Richard has kinda stolen the show for me, though. His assets (again) and his brazenly forward personality along with his background as a blue collar, southern family man kinda sent me over the edge for him. I often enjoy his dialogue the most, especially when he's being silly or extra horny, no pun intended. There's a few lines in particular that I always laugh at. I know he has at least one extremely toxic trait, but I trust he's gonna have that all worked out before the end.

I think for me. It’s got to be a split between Darius and Dwayne. I’ve never read such enthralling storytelling and character development than I have with Darius. He’s a puzzle that you have to slowly work to figure out. Dwayne is just so precious. The way he speaks just strikes a chord with me. It makes me love him so much!

Even with the older art style, Harold was what really drew me in, I love all the guys, but Harold's appearance was very iconic to me and I just NEEDED to know more about him~ Plus also helps I just have a thing for coaches in general~

With so many characters it's hard to pick just one, for me itsRichard, Harold and Chester. So many people already described Harold that I don't really know what to say, it says a lot that most of it is about him being really caring and supportive. He's like a wish that never could be fulfilled. Chester just carries his heart on his sleeve, the ultimate comfort. The innocence and pure goodness he radiates makes him too lovable. With him around there's no way you'd ever feel sad. Richard on the other hand, for me it's mostly because of how much he's different from what I like, the curiosity of what would happen next is a reward in itself. The straightforward attitude and lack of shame compared to others make him stand out.

Two answers on this one: Spencer is one of my favorite routes because that trope of childhood friends to soul mates is just so good and it really warms my heart. I love love love the cute affectionate moments between the MC and Spencer and it just is so sweet. Plus watching Spencer sort of open up and unwind more is really fun to see. Darius is probably my number one favorite route because I love his character development SO much. The slow evolution from insatiable flirty slut to this lovey cute lion is so great and it's something I really love to see, plus the whole "conflict" where he gets in his accident and how the MC is just sort of frustrated in a way by how much he cares about Darius is great, I love it. I just really love my lion boyfriend ♥

Harold is my favorite for a few reasons. I tend to like older guys and he's clearly an older guy. But I also like that he's some bisexual representation in the game that I can relate to that honestly I feel doesn't get represented often in these types of games. I like that he's a bear in almost every sense of the word. But my favorite part about him (and this is definitely the horny thoughts) is that thick uncut cock of his. It's just absolute perfection.

Harold is the first character i romanced in a game like this, ExCA is the first game i played like this and romancing him gave me the energy i needed to go out and start dating 🫣😅

Darius is your best written, I believe. He was a rebellious boy who fell into some unsavory habits, to some. His entire facade seems to have been created to spite the expectations for his life. He didn't WANT to just be the son of the wealthiest guy in the city. He didn't WANT to have his life be endlessly pouring through ledgers, staff meetings, business charts and quarterly reports. He needed to just be Darius, not the son of Cyrus Maynor. Seeing him realize that Eric wanted him, not for his sex game, but because Darius actually gives a damn about people's problems, was incredible. Darius is a man of many talents; all derived from a desire to have someone be proud to say they know him. When Darius thanked Eric at the end of his route, "Thank you for giving me a chance", it didn't read as Darius thanking Eric. It came across as Darius thanking the reader. An exquisite masterclass in what Visual Novels CAN be.

Mine you already know, is Dozer, I love how he appears reserved and quiet at the beginning and then when you start knowing him you understand he has a an anger that needs to be temper, a great sexuality and an amazing drive mrrr (also kind of spiritual and with a green thumb), furthermore he is fucking hot mrrr (and the lodge vacations with him is my second "event" in ExCa that I love, being Spencer's wedding the first one) Outside ExCa I love many characters, one of them is Xialong from Another Eidos for his looks or Runar for looks and personality in ffxiv or Emet selch for story and amazing design

Chester, I've always loved minotaurs and large bullmen. Him being so musky, and so deeply nerdy in such a real and relatable way also helps connect with him a lot easier. His backstop on top of that is really compelling to me and makes me feel really bad and happy for him at the same time now that we're in his life.

It's difficult to point to ONE since they all are fleshed out and fun. However, Harold is a character I identify the most due to similar interests and body type I'm attracted to. It may be because he was the first route that I did when I started ExtcA back then and had fun seeing him get flustered and shy. I definitely have a soft spot for guys like him.

I really like Dozer and Chester! It probably helps that they have similar interests to mine. Now though I also really like Dwayne, he's so adorable and charming

For ExCa, Harold and Richard are my faves. Both are "my type" appearance wise and I could definitely see myself falling for both of them quickly but in different ways. Harold in a much more classically rom-com type way, bonding over shared interests and comforting one another when we have bad days. The scene with him in the closet (you know the one) really hits my heart. Richard would be more of a fast friends to fuck buddies to actual lovers real quick. I think we would mesh very well teasing each other and making jokes while deeper feelings developed. Also a guy who cares that much about his kids just makes me feel warm. From other games, I also really like Mark from Coral Island. A big, rough-exterior and tough-guy facade but an absolute sweet-hart when it comes to animals and people he's close to just gets me. And the scar is hot.

I appreciate them all, but I think it winds up being Chester, Darius, Richard, and then Harold if we're talking about favorites. Chester is, in essence, the dream: the beefy passionate nerd. Soft, strong, endearing, and a goober. Fully unafraid to feel his own feelings, even if it can occasionally lead to an angry outburst. There's something about the dialogue and general interactions that feel very genuine, for lack of a better word. There isn't a thing about this guy that isn't warm and welcoming. Darius is the forward perv that everyone quietly loves. Intensely unserious as a means of interacting with the world until you get through that initial layer, and suddenly you have another passionate person that's going after what they want. Chaotic/Good in disguise as unbothered sleaze, and it's wonderful. He pushes others only juuuuuust enough for them to either decide it's stuff they don't want or something they find they enjoy, and that's a quality that's somewhat hard to come by, in my experience. Richard is the brusque, burly fella with the soft romantic side that stays tucked away for just the right time. The hands are worn and worked, but the rest is gentle, making for a nice juxtaposition. It might take him some time to get through and say the things he means to say, but he gets there eventually. I've also got a soft spot for backwoods charm that just doesn't seem to ever go away. Harold is the intelligent goober with creative passion and a relatable sense of self-doubt paired with moments of very clear certainty about himself. Caring, openminded, protective, nerdy... What's not to like? All of the above are guys that are willing to push you to try new things, try new things themselves, open their minds and hearts where they can, and just be a comforting presence overall. Paired with their own complex family/spousal dynamics, they're the characters that feel the most "real" and fleshed out. I melt every time.

I'd say as right now Richard, Harold and Dozer are some of my personal favorite. With Richard I always thought he was hot, but plaything through his route his southern charm really work it's way through my heart. Plus the fact he was willing to change after being called out on toxic habits. Harold I connected to just because I have a weakness for older bigger men. But seeing his struggles really made me fall for him. Dozer I'll be real it was his very dominant side that did the trick. I like how he has a yin-yang thing going on with that. Plus his issues with his father were so relatable

Harold and Darius with Chester following for me. Harold cause he ticks a lot of boxes for me as he's smart, caring, enjoys food, reading, relaxed hobbies, and the whole handling living with depression (something I also deal with), how he handles sex in a cozy kinda fashion. and I love a guy with chest hair which Harold has in abundance. Darius is that cool, fun, confidant guy but with the caring & shy side, and the pervy side that doesn't push it. He's sweet and thoughtful, loves to spoil you, knows how to have fun but doesn't always need to be crazy stuff, cares about both of your health and the cuddles (another of my love things to do). All the other guys are good as well but Harold and Darius just strike that cord within thus at the top of the list though Chester has quite a bit going for him as well since he shares quite a bit of interests with me.

Spencer cuz I'm an absolute sucker for the best friend trope (and I had a huge crush on my best friend for a while that didn't work out). And Darius cuz I get the "be slutty to get over insecurities and keep people at a distance" thing...

Coach was my first pick. Yes he’s hot (but so are all of them) but also something about the way his temperament is written and just the general sweetness of him probably is what endears me the most. Chester is my second pick just because he’s so baby girl.

That's a tough decision. I like aspects of all of them (though I'm waiting a bit longer before starting Richard 's and Dwayne's routes and looking forward to it). The two characters at the the top of the list have to be Harold and Darius. Harold and I share a lot of life struggles in common, so his story resonates hard for me. He's sweet, he's damn sexy, and to watch his journey unfold always brings a smile to my face. He's become a comfort character for me. (Hoping Pawprint restocks his plush so I can nab that one of these days) I disliked Darius at first (even though I'm a huge sucker for the chivalrous pervert trope). Playing through Spencer's and Chester's storylines, I kept seeing those little hints of his personality show through the sexy bravado and booted up his route. I ended up loving his story; seeing him grow closer and more open with the MC is damn touching. He's sexy, he's sassy, he's sometimes a damn dramatic mess, but every time he sits at the piano, I can't help but melt a little. As for your other question. Been reading Hearthfire recently and I've thought all the character designs and personalities have been solid.

I like Darius, Richard, Spencer, and harold the most, and if I had to rank them, it'd go: Darius, richard, harold, Spencer Darius is my favorite due to his story, the character development we see. I also like his attitude change, and how he slowly started getting perceived a bit differently. I like the part of the story where we realize he's actually just a loner, I like when he shyly expresses his genuine emotions Richard: I like his personality/attitude, he also has the hottest body out of all of them imo. So far, I like his story, although it feels a bit more lacking when compared to the rest (story wise) Harold: I like him because he's a softy, he's cute. I like how his story plays out and I feel like it touches on some dark(ish) themes that I personally like how they were written Spencer: whats not to like about his story? Childhood bestfriends turned to lovers. I feel like it's a bit basic, but I eat it up everytime. I really like the wedding parts

Love them all I like Chester because of his nerdiness’s I like Spencer for the sweet friends to lovers I like dozer for being a gentle giant I like Harold for the big sweet bear and his age gap I like Darius for his wildness and the bond you build with him I like Richard for the dilf energy and his bluntness and like dwayn for his scatterbrain if I had to rank my top three number 1 is Chester he is a guy I would date irl then number 2 I would choose Harold he is an age gap I can get behind and sweet and number 3 Spencer I love the friends to lovers and the trust you have with him

I'm quite fond of both Chester and Spencer. Spencer because both he and his family are just so wholesome and sweet. Chester because he's absolutely adorkable! I'd love spending time with him.

I like all of them tbh For Harold it's everything his story his looks and he acts when horny everything about him is amazing For chester he's probably the one I'd actually end up dating irl he's hot and we have similar interests he honestly adorable and so cute at times For Spencer I like his personality and story a lot Darius was kinda tough to get into at first but I ended up loving his later story and the moments of sweetness that would shine through every now and then For dozer it's how big he is and ho anw dominant he is also kinda how pervy he can be For Richard it's kind his character and how he acts also he's hot For Dwayne it's a couple of things like his prevyness is kinda different it's more of a playful goofy pervy which is similar to my irl spouse also his build and his character also I vibe with the forgetfulness cause like me too king me too

My favorite is Spencer, but i really like Dozer and Richard too. I always felt like Spencer's route was the true one since he has a big focus in all the other routes. You know he loves you, and in his route you actually get to follow through on it. And, at the time, it was the only route that led to an engagement which was really sweet. Dozer and Richard were characters I really wanted to learn more about and was glad to see where their respective routes went. Honorable mention would be Harold since he's such a sweet man. I always start his route first when doing new playthroughs. His epilog was well deserved! ❤️

I really like Spencer and Harold. Both relationship just seem deep and real and comforting. I as love a hefty man who’s not afraid of it.

Dozer, looks definitely play a part as I really have a thing for scalies, but he's also just an absolute sweetheart. Also, him being a freak in bed is fantastic.

Darius just to see the growth and seeing genuine emotion from him Spence as well to see them come out of their shell is adorable

I love Harold for his sense of humor. Someone like him would take care of you. I could understand his pain completely. Depression or mental illness is a very serious issue, and I know it all too well. His smile, his playfulness, and his body make me come back for more. Chester because we both love games and cooking. His nerdy side is cute, and him being chubby is also a plus. Finally, Dozer. A gentle giant with an aura of serenity that would make me feel safe and protected. His desire to get stronger is an encouragement. He could help me lose weight. His massage skills will be very helpful after coming home from work. I just have a weakness for bigger men.

I love Dozer for the little bits here and there that adds value over time in his route. And obviously being a big boi. And his duality of being a gentle giant and hornball is not overdone so he allows some agency even if he firmly suggest risky stuff. Dwayne isn't my favorite route exactly because I'm not into the open relationship stuff. His relationship goes blazing fast, which isn't exactly bad. It's what he does during the time that makes him high tier boyfriend material: giving the MC work, a place to stay, and just being very open and honest about who he is and what he allows. "Making my heart flutter" goes to Spencer and Harold for different reasons because Spencer really sells the idea that he is always there for you and is loyal (not doubting the others of course). Harold is a different sweet because he does stuff that aligns with what I think are neat because his date nights are classic and sets the mood.

I say Dozer is my favorite, love his muscles, his kindness. Probably what my ideal man would be

Haven't played in a long time, but Darius has got to be one of my favourites specifically because of how amazingly well done his character development is done. Plus he's so fun to hang out with and he's the type of friend that KNOWS how to be a friend and not backstab you or overstep your boundaries. On top of that, if he REALLY likes you, he's always trying his best to prove his authentic self and not the perceived version of what he is based on what people are saying. Misunderstood, but my god is he such a reward once you get him. Like a secret overpowered item in a video game x3

Chester for me, he is perfectly the best, because I love bulls and nerds.

Harold, Spencer, and Dwayne. Harold felt so wholesome and my heart ached for him so much when he showed his depression. I already liked him before, but I wanted to be in his corner always after that. Spencer was just an excellent “best friend turner lover” story. Dwayne just…felt so real to me from what I played with him. I already appreciate how different he was compared to the others, but this route takes its time in such a special way. Ever since the first date and the day after, I started to really love the guy.

I've enjoyed all the routes I've completed so far. Darius was a surprise that had me tearing up a few times. Chester is a big fav as is Richard. I really need to do Dozer and Harold's routes now that they're done. XD

I Ranked all the characters right now Richard is at the top. Then it goes Harold, Chester, Spencer, Dozer, Dwayne, and last Darius. Richard is my favorite due to his last update but before it he was tied for 2nd with Chester for a long time. Harold was my favorite up till recently he was my favorite due to his appearance and that he looks so cuddly plus his age play a part i have always liked older men.

I would say Dozer for me. He’s kind and loves plants which I also like plants. He is very affectionate and it’s very cute. I like the events with him in private. Plus he likes his muscles being worshipped which I do enjoy doing too. I do like muscular men.

Oh man this is hard. I like several of the routes for various reasons! Spencer cause I'm a sucker for childhood friends blossoming into something more. Once we get away from the club and reconnecting it feels so natural and wonderful. I still cry on his last day, for good reasons. Darius cause he is this wild guy but deep down he wants more than just that. Him coming to terms with his feelings and the MC being there to help him and show that it's okay to open up his so heart warming. Harold cause he deserves love and happiness despite what he may feel at the beginning. His story pulls me in the most, the ups and downs are so emotional that I just want to be there for him. Chester cause he's a gamer goob like myself! Excited and energetic about the things he likes and loves to do. Facing his hurdles with the help of his brother and MC is very rewarding.

Harold and Spencer, by a lot!!, I find them really relatable, as a Bi man, I always struggled with people not believing me, or saying that I am just in the process of coming out, so seeing Harold so comfortable, being caring and loving, makes me think about the kind of man I want to be when I'm older!, and Spencer is a well round character!, I really like the way he struggles with opening up, and deals with it's issues, they struggle, they mess up, they learn they grow, I just love it!! Very good writing

Every character is great, but Darius and Spencer are my top two. Spencer is so energetic, but also has some great quieter moments, and I love that him and your character are working things out together. I guess, like Harold, I also love the "best friends to lovers" trope when it's done right. As for Darius... I really don't know. I mean, he's hot, but that's true for all of them. I guess I like him revealing his layers one by one. He's not just some perv, he has a lot of layers built up because he's been hurt by everyone else. His love for your character feels more "earned" than the other routes, and even though he's a handful he can be the most earnest. He also seems to guide things along on the other routes, which is brilliant. The cat just loves love! Outside of ExcA, there are plenty of characters I love. Amicus in Adastra does a lot for me. Big, bulky wolf man who can work a cape? Yes, please! Halsin from BG3 is just... perfection. I know that's not an original thought, but he's a big softie who just loves EVERYTHING. And that voice? How can you not love him? From Bioware games there's Garrus and the Iron Bull. Garrus because he's a massive dork under that crunchy exterior, and when him and Shepard say their goodbyes at the end of ME3 just has me in tears every time. Amazing voice work from Brandon Keener and Jen Hale. The Iron Bull because he's a big, horny (in both senses) softie. Actually he reminds me a lot of Darius in how he acts. Again, you get some really touching moments with him when things are quiet. I love Ox from the Green Creek series of books. He definitely thinks differently to everyone else in the series and it gives him a genuinely unique perspective as he learns to navigate the world he's become a part of, and since most of it's in first person it really brings you into his way of seeing things. On the whole, who gets my heart going really depends on how someone's presented. For a shallow character I just think "yeah, hot, next" and move on. Someone with depth keeps me interested and wanting to get to know as much about them as I can, or to try to work out why they might think the way they think, even if that might not be the way the author intended.

Richard and Chester I think its because their routes are very chill, even tho it has been two years or more since I did the Chester route it still comes to my mind once in a while, he is just too sweet, his nerdy side and how daring he is sometimes really mixes up well. And for Richard I think its because he gives the vibes that he knows very well how a relationship works (especially because of his backstory) and that gives me the safety that he is not gonna fumble the bag, he is gonna stay and if something is wrong he is gonna say it and that gives me an extra layer of safety that unless either of us is feeling unhappy there is no way the relationship is gonna end.

My favorite character from EA is, and likely always be Spencer. I just love so much about him. He's a husky, which is my favorite type of dog. He's caring and loving. He's smart. He's protective of those he loves... There are a number of other things but I can't possibly list all of them. Outside of EA, from the visual novel Tennis Ace, I'd have to say I love Jun, the tiger, because he's an absolute sweetheart. Shoichi is a husky, which, again, I love. And Haruki, despite his attitude, makes me laugh.

Spencer and Darius are my favorite EA Boys. I never really had a 'best friend' growing up, so Spener fills this fantasy niche in my heart that makes me feel all squishy inside. Additionally, aside from him just being hunky and I like his build, his personality is relatable; I'm a nurse and eldest child, so I have to kind of be on my A-Game, best I can do at all times. So when he gets to enjoy himself at Dynamite Springs, those little scenes just make me so happy seeing him do art and passions that make HIM happy. Also he is buppy and likes his pets and is just friggen precious. And a complex character! I nearly cackled when you kick his butt at video games and he stays up to get good (because to be fair, I do that too and relate because I'm secretly C O M P E T I T I V E) Darius is also a fantasy character. I had a fella i was pursuing for awhile that was like Darius but actually CRAPPY, so there are some odd little alluring parallels I have. But the cool part about Darius is that he has so much substance. And what is super refreshing for Darius as a VN character is that he is *SO* cards on the table. Dude is wiley, but honesty is one of his best virtues. And his scenes of vulnerability are great, and just extremely heart felt. For the both of them, Darius and Spencer also are just so tied to Eric and it's FUN. They are so involved in most of the stories, and their presence always adds to each route you play. Also everyone is sexually delightful in each route, but Spencer and Darius both just bring something very interesting to their flirting and sexy times which is EXCITING. Their complexity, depth, body types, personalities, and playfulness make me feel for both of them and want to just bury my face in their chests and cuddle them all day LOL (except also not because both are busy and high energy which I NEED and am also super busy). Other characters I like... Scott Howl from Monster Prom is just a HUNK, and a himbo. God I love my himbos. But also he's based and just silly and I love how he's written. Bandit Heeler gets drawn so hunky... but also there's probably a daddy wound in my history as a gay man, but genuinely, Bandit is a vulnerable, thoughtful, silly guy. I really like him a lot as a character. I am in love with Snow Villiers from Final Fantasy XIII and I would [insert inappropriate shenanigans bleeps here]. I love his arc, I love his looks, and he's just a fun dumbass. And so I don't go on too long... I find himbos and genuinely sweet characters extremely fun to read about and grow with. I think sincerity can be a very underrated character trait and it helps me relate to characters a lot too... OKAY I LIED I ACTUALLY FORGOT; there are a lot of VN's out there, and yes he's supposed to be a blank slate, but Eric/MC's whole background and personality feel SO relatable. Like of ALL the EA boys, I feel I relate to Eric the most. Because in the background and his history, a lot of his events, mannerisms, and his role as an anchor for the others is SO cool, and he feels very fleshed out. And I think he's cute too LOL.

I have 3 faves. Darius, Spencer and Richard - looks, character development, confidence, how they deal with their issues, how they interact with the player, playfulness, relatability, enjoyable and engaging writing.

I think I was most “excited” during the Harold route, but I enjoyed the dynamics of the Spencer route more. Having a friend with a semi-complex history as well as Spencer having a story centered around work, school, and sport balance was more engaging. It felt like all the speedy elements of the relationship had more context, the navigation of the route felt more interesting (assertive vs submissive and pro tennis vs pro dancing vs pro school), and while age differences are spicy, having MC date a peer made it feel more practical. So I think I’ll still go for Harold if I had to pick a route to replay, but I do believe Spencer is “better” for what it’s worth. And shoutout to Dean for bringing all the right energy. Certainly a favorite character as well, but honestly just for personality and appearance.

Chester is my Favorite by far. For me its a combination of his looks as he is tall buff chubby and hung as well a bull and the way he acts he is goofy and horny and just a nice guy to be arround thats why I choose him ^^

Chester for me is the first guy that me fall in love. Obvious looks and *ahem* assets aside, he’s basically my ideal partner. He’s this huge guy with huge muscles and a layer of fat, he’s a big geek, and an amazing cook! He’s got the looks, the personality, and the kind of love that makes my heart flutter! Not to mention he’s also a huge protector of the people he loves! Spencer is a close second! The only reason why Chester is my favorite is because he’s more of a geek and a better cook.

I choose Dwayne, he makes me feel loved and at peace, I think he is literally the type of person I would want with me, Someone who is spontaneous and sweet who holds your hand in difficult moments even if he is scared too, I can say that Dwayne is my comfort Character in all respects, All the other characters are good candidates in my opinion, but Dwayne is the one who made the biggest impression on me

After having read all 5 routes years ago, it was definitely Chester for his combination of being a cuddly looking hunk, but also because he and I went through similar experiences, and he and I are on similar wavelengths. He truly helped me learn to accept and like the parts of myself that I used to be bullied relentlessly for. He's both impossibly attractive, and someone who, if he was real, would probably be my best friend and maybe boyfriend! I just rly love that guy haha

Well... I have a reason for everyone, and I'm gonna try being as much expressive as possible, because there's so much to analyze here. First there's Harold: something about being so nerd, so romantic and so correct with words just strikes a chord in me. Knowing how his imagination flows is just so... appealing, and just make understanding a man like that so easy. Then there's Spencer: the fact that he's trying to get free from expectations and how he's so passionate about what he loves and how he loves doing it with the MC feels just... right. Just the perfect mix between getting out of the comfort zone and respecting your boundaries. Also the fact that he's so happy when he talks with the MC brings a sheepish grin to me. Then Darius: that's a though one to crack. How he just does whatever he feels like... His sense of freedom is contagious. His love for his family, all that self confidence and the fact that just helps the MC not give a damn about being the way he wants to be. And the fact that there's so much more behind that facade, talented, smart, knows how to deal with people... and playing the piano just made me cry so much. Chester: oh man... this could be a man after my heart. A gamer that cooks, is dumb but heartwarming dumb, is so random and spontaneous with his thoughts. He has no space in that nugget or muscles for hatred, devious plans or brain cells, only MTG strategies and engineering. That little idiot's just a goofball full of genuine and pure, unadulterated love. Dozer: the meaning of the power of silence. A man that knows how to make introspection so he can choose the correct words and the correct way to say whatever he wants or needs... thas the greenest flag I can think of. Someone that has so much control over his strength and can use it to the best of everyone else's well being... how amazing is that? Then there's Richard: being able to acknowledge your own mistakes takes real strength of heart. Someone that is always so caring about you and how you feel, even when knowing you're both flawed... that's something not everyone knows how to do. That maturity is so appealing. Then Dwayne: blurting out your thoughts, being so quirky and genuine to yourself... that man has it hard to navigate through life when existence forces you to wake up and nobody has a guide to how to "go on". And he does it with no qualms. That attitude is something we should all try to imitate. And that's something I love from a man.

Humm.... I honestly can't pick one, because I love all of them. Apparences are obvious, not gonna pretend I don't find them super hot, but that it's eclipsed by their personalities. For every characters I have at least one trait that I deeply resonate with, and that makes me fell really close to them. As for other media, I do follow a LOT of VNs, but most (if not all ) are romances, and usually most are fantasies. I have some that are urban fantasies and sci-fi ones, and usually I follow the same pattern. Usually it's not the entire cast like EA, but I do find at least one of the main character that I deeply love. Some mentions are Asterion from Minotaur Hotel and Marruk from Roads Yet Traveled.

Dwayne suprisee me with how he is and is great. My fav is still Darius. He's someone that is hurting. But is pretty genuine. When he realizes he has people who genuinely care for him, he's just great. Some red flags here and there. But I like how you wrote him to be this person who tries to put on a show. And he's not that. Darius was my first fav. Still is and I do like the extra stuff you added to him a d an improved relation with Spencer

My favorite characters are Harold and Richard. I find that their personalities are very warm, and caring. They are also very sure of who they are as people. These characteristics make there route my tied favorite. Not to mention there bodies, faces, and "equipment" in combination make them my favorite characters to look at as well.

Unfortunately, I haven’t played in a very long time (1.137), so I don’t know how things have changed in recent builds. But based on the last time I played, Darius is my favourite character with Spencer being a close second. I find Darius’ mix of arrogant and sweet is really endearing. Spencer only comes in second by a close margin. I like the “best friend” route usually as it naturally provides history, but it feels over done and by the time I stopped playing, it really didn’t feel much more fleshed out than any other game. I’ve been waiting for the finished game to come out before I dive back in and then I’m gonna work through all the routes again, and try Richard and Dwayne for the first time. I’m looking forward to sink my teeth into what’s been added since I last played. Please keep up the amazing work.

I had complicated feelings to sort through when I met Spencer - he reminds me so much of my husband, who I always said would be a husky fursona anyway. But they had the kind of romantic beginning and history that I wished we could’ve had, with more adventure. He’s ridiculously charming and attractive, and has his shit together better than most guys twice his age. 🤣 Hard to resist!

For me, it has to be Dwayne. Apart from our perverted nature's being VERY similar, in terms of personality or sometimes being "Banana brained" I can relate. Otherwise Chester is my second favorite, I love his goofball attitude, competitiveness and his love for gaming, amongst other things.

Definitely Richard, perfect balance of sexual and romantic love. He also is harder to come out to you with how he feels which makes it all the more rewarding when he does. I also love how affectionate he is even in normal situations. The way he struggles to say that he loves you us also very sweet. I just wish I could be more dominant with em the way that Russel handles him, ha. Hope we can get an epilogue where he Finished ally heals from his trauma and we get to propose and marry em!

Spencer! The fact that you get to explore a long-standing childhood friendship with him and navigate towards a relationship and seeing how the pair of them evolve is really interesting for me! But for characters I tend to enjoy? Give me a broody scalie that I get to crack to get to their soft side side any day

my favorite character and also the first route i play is harold love this big bear I can't resist playing his route over and over again he is so sweet and charming his body his personality everything about him is perfection. the way he tries to deal with his depression is admirable and how much he has an appetite for living life to the fullest he is a person you can't resist falling in love with and he deserves the best

Well for me it's between Harold and Richard, Harold has this perfect combo of shy/jealous/horny/funny/nerdy and sweet side to him. He is the ULTIMATE cuddly bear with a big heart and so much depth and passion. Richard is just this rough but romantic southerner that just makes me go crazy. He's kinda shy about his feelings and he has his issues from his complicated past just like Harold but that's just what makes him more appealing. Both of them have captured my heart in different ways!

Yeah ever since I played I fell in love with all the characters. I know he’s not the favorite among all the characters but I love love dozer. To be honest at first I didn’t think much of him, the more I played his route the more more I fell in love with him 🥰.He’s a big big sweet heart. Plus his confidence once you get to know him more and that face he makes is hella hot. He’s a monster in the sheets too and he’s hella huge yes please. But I also love that he’s wanting to help people and takes care of plants. Very very cute . I think the moment I loved the most was the hot spring in the mountains and just the entire trip I enjoyed it a lot. If I had to chose a nsfw definitely the one you added later was when Chester watching the mc and dozer having sex 😁😁 outside of exca I love your first or 2nd Halloween game I think when you were still with cursed mark and engaging circle I think it was called

As far as side characters, I relate the most to Dean; He's cute, goofy, charming, just an overgrown kid himself who cares a lot about his family, even if he's not gay. Spencer's mom is indeed a lucky lady, even if it means dealing with four children at home. 😅 If I could date ANYONE in the cast, he would be my pick, but it would break the story for obvious reasons... For the main cast, I'm drawn to Harold for his projected strength, hidden struggles, and trying to balance his work, personal life and hobbies... plus he's my type as well. 😊 The route I come back to over and over though, which was surprising to me at first, is Darius... like Harold, the hidden struggles of someone who seems to have things all together, and the eventual relationship he wants something more and something real is a great story arc. He has a hidden maturity that is veiled by am uncaring facade, but is a true friend when push comes to shove. Also, Maria, because... Maria. She is supportive, caring, understanding, talented, graceful, and full of all the sass a feline femme fatale should have. That's more than one, but each are my favorite in different ways. (I still love my boy, Spencer too, but that might get awkward since I have eyes for his daddy. 😆)

Characters outside of extra would be Axel from remember the flowers. I love how he there for you. Plus his a white tiger and I love his eyes.

For me it kind of a 3 way time with Harold, Spencer, and Darius. The emotional side of Harold's route is kind of why his one of my favorites plus his a Bear. I love the childhood lovers with Spencer. I also just like Spencer personality too it just really good. They both really look out you which is sweet too. Darius I like because of how the way he acts has an emotional side to it. It is very sweet to see it plus I love the song at the end of his route.

Harold fits the writer in me, and is closest to me in nature, but I'm also part Chester: gamer, nerd, and food guy; Spencer is the best friend, and Darius, well he is that buddy that you say never to, that, it turns out, given the right circumstances turns into something unexpected. I have had a Spencer and a Darius situation happen to me, so having lived those routes to some extent I identify with them especially.

Personal opinion. Favorite In game: Darius - Misunderstood, changes in many ways, good ending feels like everyone has a happy ending including Spencer in the extras. Most fun in game: Dwayne - loving and open to many experiences. Outside of the game most fun: currently Maul from lustful desires - Dom leather daddy who humiliates you, teases you, and leads with extreme confidence in his situations although arrogant. Outside of the game personal favorite: Meat log mountain - Durk Aszkreamer - Intelligent but when horned up can become the dom daddy orc that takes you for a ride. Princess by day rough dom daddy at night kind of situation.

Honestly Dwayne is such a nice guy. He's blunt and funny and he really cares about the Mc and it's endearing. Plus he's also really hot and I love a man who leaks like a faucet and can go multiple times uwu. (Also having a chode is also hot af) Along with his route, LEON IS SO HOT. Holy shit Leon is like the hottest side characters in the whole vn next to a few of the strippers and Eric's dad, Leon walking around in basically a thong of a speedo and he radiates an aura of confidence. He also seems like a fun chill guy and his whole "Daddy is proud of you" schtick is funny AF and I love him for it. Idk, I just love Leon so much and Dwayne's route gives me so much content I love with both of them

Richard & Chester for sure! Combined, those two have all the irresistible characteristics of men I usually fall for - both physical & non-physical: large, loud, brash, funny, sensitive, highly sexual, capable/handy, a tiny bit himboish, nerdy, emotional, musky, affectionate, kind/sweet, filthy mind, flirtatious, funny, etc.

Darius grew on my heart as I played other paths, me catching little hints that there was more to him than the horny exterior. When I did his path, I was blown away with how emotional it was, how vulnerable not just Darius was, but how I had become from reading his story. The way it evolved, revealing more and more of the lion, led me to fall in love with him long before dicks went into butts, and, when they did, it was a celebration, not just a conquest. It has taken every last bit of restraint to encourage my husband to play the other paths before him, because, much like in his path, it is the journey that makes the destination worthwhile.

I'm a Richard fan, myself. He's just got such a big personality, and I love a man with a southern drawl. I just love a man that I can banter with, and I feel like that's something I could do with Richard. Sure, he's not perfect, but I think that's what makes him a more realistic character.

My favorite character is Darius. I really connected with his route because at the time I was having problems with my ex, and his behavior and thoughts were very similar to mine. He slowly opening up to the MC and having to courage to start a new relationship really resonated with me, and now, just like him, I've come in terms with things and started a new relationship. I really love this lion.

outside exac my favorite character is Gintoki Sakata from gintama. I like how he can be one scene lazyass next serious fighter, and his qoutes are too real

Richard, I think I have a weakness for loving dad characters. Oddly enough what won him over as a favorite was that first scene where he was laughing his ass off at cartoons while eating cereal.

I would say Harold is my number one but im getting weak to Dwayne and Richard. Only because richard and I are literally the same person. . . And Dwayne is just a dream lover of a spankable cutie. Harold honestly is like my own partner. We both deal with depressed and to see a character dealing with it and not a weird forced 0 - 100 way is just so interesting and relatable. . . I could go on but I'd rather not Write a book here on way Harold is number one

In ExcA, I do love every character for various reasons, but one reason for each stands out. For Harold, it's his reality and resilience in spite of his depression and how he finds his worth again and even better because of the MC. For Spencer, he's willing to let himself relax and he has a strong, perfectionist attitude stemming from an insecurity of self worth due to issues with his brother, but I overcomes it gradually thanks to the MC. Chester is short fused at times, but he is an extremely sweet and loving man who was a victim of sexual assault and has a strong passion for gaming and development, which he earns through his hard work and desire to protect and bring a smile to those he loves. Dozer is a gentleman in the streets but a freak in the sheets, and with the MC, he gradually learns what true love is and he can express himself freely to the point of being willing to go to jail for protecting his loved ones. Darius is a strong challenge and when given a chance, he too understands love and respect as well as is able to just be himself without restrictions. Richard is a rough, yet sweet man who loves his family and only wants to be better for his new love and for his family, so he continues to strive day to day to be better, remembering that he never wants to relapse again. Dwayne is an amazing person who is unrelenting and generous because he knows and understands everyone's self worth, and he'll let you know right off the bat. No questions asked, because he likes complete honesty and doesn't take no for an answer.

Spencer, I wrote about him after I played his route. Spencer - Good Boy - Dog Star - Husband "He taught me a lot about love, he had a big impact on me, he also taught me how to feel about my sexuality and that if others are not okay with it, it means I don't deserve them in my life. He showed me that I should have the courage to go after the one I love and that I shouldn't be afraid to say what I feel, he also taught me a lot about jealousy and I learned a lot from that, he also showed me that it's good to dedicate yourself to what you like and that I should at least try to do it, he also gives me the courage to try and work harder in my life, to make the ones I should be proud of and above all myself too. Spencer showed me how I should follow what I want and do what I love and he showed me how love can be something incredible, you helped me a lot, you are a character, but I really liked everything I learned from you." Harold/Spencer/Darius - quick note "Maybe I should start considering the *I love you* in an even more special way... I already do that, but I feel like I should consider something more special, receiving it and saying it has to be from the heart and not just mouthing it, something really strong, it represents love, love is not that simple, I can't say that I love someone without being sure of it, I love my family and a few friends and relatives." More from Spencer, extra note "Just saying that man... Spencer is an example of a good friend, playing other routes we can see how he cares about the protagonist and supports him and his relationships, even though he has feelings for the protagonist, he has in mind that regardless they will still be friends and more than that family, Spencer shows how to be a good friend and that if you really care you should show it and again, I like how Spencer inspires me to be a better person, even though it's difficult." Sorry if it was too much, but this game really left its mark on me, it helped me through a difficult time in my life, and I needed to write about the experience I had, in fact, I have notes like this of all the routes as I was finishing or as I was playing.

Seems like the Darius lovers are here early and I am among them. I love how his story unfolds and how sweet he at rhe end of his story. Then I have to give some love to the kaiju dozer. From his massive muscles to his overall stroy. There's going to be plenty of love for good boy Spence. But he's up there as well. Then for some other vns Hakan from tavern of spear who has one of my favorite character designs, probably my favorite of all the ones I mention. Rhot and roushk from lustful desires for their personalities and designs Rhot for his more tsundre attitude and roushk for his calm demeanor. It's eairly and my brain isn't working properly I hope my ideas got through

Everyone but personally. 1. Chester, he's cute. Charming. And I have a soft spot for nerds. His relationship with his brother is adorable. As the eldest sibling of my family I find them to be relatable. 2. Harold, Ive dealt with depression and I also write. He and I have some things in common on that front haha, but his passion for literature and world building really touched me. Plus he's a bear!! 3. Dozer, his route hit too close to home. I had a messy breakup and dealt with those...very tough feelings of moving on. It's not easy. It hurts. Like losing someone and having to realize that, that's it. You can't go back. I wasn't expecting to be invested but Dozers route hit TOO close to home for me. So he's up there as well!

I really love Dozer and Richard. All the characters are hearthrobs, but those two are special because I can really sympathize with them.

for me it's Spencer because i love the childhood friend to lover trope. in anime this trope never works but here it's presented well. i like Spencer for how he cares for mc and how he try becomes better.

I have some fav’s but over all I like Richard, with his character development and how he is becoming more in tune with his emotions it brings me some happiness. Plus he is a southern like me so it’s like looking at a mirror. But I do have a soft spot of Spencer and Darius love those goof balls.

Honestly love all the characters, Harold is always my number 1 because he is so sweet, adorable, and sexy but Darius is a very close second, I have a thing for lions and getting to see his sensitive side was wonderful and really drew me in.

Harold is my favorite, he was the first route I played and I just fell in love with the story honestly. So kinda because of nostalgia? He's just the one I loved most after playing everyone (also big bears are always amazing lol). But am also really enjoying Dwayne's route, he reminds me of my boyfriend and just love the relationship

For me Spencer always comes to mind when I think of the vn. Love the trope of childhood best friend to lover and the dynamic between them is so well written and believable.
