Six years ago, Shen Weiyao and Fu Sennian fell in love, only for a secret bet and painful misunderstandings to tear them apart. Now, fate brings them face-to-face again. Fu Sennian has become a powerful, sharp-tongued businessman, while Shen Weiyao is a fiercely independent woman caught in her company's financial troubles. When a business deal lands her a job as his secretary, he seems determined to make her life difficult—and keep her close.

Then Fu Sennian takes things a step further by presenting her with a marriage contract, claiming he simply needs a wife to get his family off his back. But their arrangement quickly stirs up six years of unresolved feelings, jealousy, and heartbreak. Both believe their love was never returned, unaware that neither has ever truly moved on.
