A new IT guy named Imran Khan started at my workplace on the same day as The Imran Khan got shot. Many cricket jokes ensued

Perfect RWN ep

Does anyone know the Central Asian story Dolan may be talking about? I don't know anything about anything, there's like a Bactrian-Margiana snake man on seals but I feel like I'm way off

Around the time when Gadaffi was being taken down I recall news articles saying that the Libyans had bought up industrial quantities of Viagra to fuel their sexual blitzkrieg. It seems to be a wartime PR tactic.

Ander Pierce · February 16, 2024

Grim stuff, I enjoyed the episode. "Trampling Pakistani democracy to preserve Ukrainian democracy"...weird world we live in for sure.

Didn't Brezhinski say something to the effect that any number of dead Afghans were a price worth paying so that central europe could be free?

Doug Cartel · February 15, 2024

can you imagine how fucking obnxious all the war movies about ukraine are going to be

A
Alexander white · February 15, 2024

They're probably not going to make many, it will be forgotten

the dark amb piece by Brendan at the end went hard

J
JoR · February 15, 2024

I feel like Brandon is either coaching the guests or editing their interviews. Because this was another great episode with little to no tangents (interesting or not). He covered a ton of topics in a very easy to understand way. And this is like the third guest in a row like this.

oh hell yeah this looks hype edit: did not disappoint

Really enjoyed this interview guys and just also wanted to say thanks for making such great content. Really makes those long drives across Ontario, Canada for work an absolute joy. Cheers!

J
Jason Thompson · February 14, 2024

First off, great interview. Second, you’re thinking of doing something based on the Shahnameh? That would be awesome!!! Though Dick Davis’ poetry-and-prose translation is so good, it’s hard to beat.

S
Sean Atkinson · February 14, 2024

At 32:06 he finds a completely normal to describe the president of a foreign country as a servant of the state department, more specifically, a state department employee, whose parents were CIA operatives in Pakistan. When he equated Imran Khan being "reammed" to a dog being struck by a guy who comes home after having his manager yell at him, I thought I was gonna lose my marbles.

S
Sean Atkinson · February 14, 2024

oh my God at 24 minutes and 26 seconds he claims that the army was able to engineer a no confidence, boat, "with CIA support" no, buddy, that was led by the CIA and had Pakistani army support. It's so insidious how characters like this guy pose as truth tellers, while deliberately hide our role and responsibility, in plain sight.

J
Jason Thompson · February 14, 2024

Um?…. He literally says the US government pressured Pakistan to oust Khan, hardly seems like he’s letting the CIA get off easy…

A
Arielle Curtin · February 14, 2024

Time for Syrsky to feed the rest of Azov into the Adveevka meat grinder. Accomplish the Russian goals of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. Great seeing Zaluzhny posing with Azov commander against red&black flag as an unveiled threat to Zel.

Great interview!

William Nagel · February 14, 2024

Was actually hoping it was actually Grim jumping into the chat. Truly was trying to get him to bite. He will never be forgotten by my union brothers and sisters. Peace.

S
Sean Atkinson · February 14, 2024

Absolutely, anyone that has followed "The Intercept" from day one can plainly see it was a buyout operation to get Snowden's payload back. Hiring this tool just made it official. And RWN plays along willingly with a lot of US govt cultural management. I mean, just look at their reaction to the Rusaian invasion. They went from covering Ukraine's devastation of eastern Ukraine seemingly honestly to pretending to be shocked and lining up with western ngo's and state department position. It was sickening. So yeah, I listen to them very carefully now.

W
William · February 14, 2024

An insular gerentocracy who runs the country to enrich themselves, massively miscalculates their political moves because of they’re too far removed from reality, or what the populace thinks? What is… every western nation?

J
Joe Bowden · February 14, 2024

Omg Ryan’s description of cricket is so funny😂😂 As a big cricket fan I will give some more details, he won the only cricket World Cup for Pakistan as a captain, the captain in cricket is really important, he decides who bowls (pitches…), where all the fielders are, tactics, batting lineup, onfield reviews etc. The Pakistan World Cup winning team is iconic and people in the subcontinent are crazy about cricket on a scale that I don’t think people in America can understand. International sports will always be more important than whether Kansas city win another Super Bowl… Or if Man City win another premier league just to prove I’m not rabidly anti-American 😂

E
Eli Burnes · February 14, 2024

I don’t know if Mark and John have seen it, but Someone found Syrsky’s mom reposting Zhirinovsky memes on VK.

S
SHEEBCORE · February 14, 2024

damn Ryan is looking pretty haggard in this episode photo

d
drewb · February 14, 2024

cricket is a hell of a drug

I
Isaac Suárez · February 14, 2024

Amazing episode. Think what you will about Khan, but thanks to the US and Pakistani army, he’s now a martyr for democracy. I feel pride for the Pakistani people and, if nothing else, schadenfreude for another bungled Biden intervention (and a hilarious, thrilling disaster for the Pakistani “deep state.”) Kudos to Ryan Grim and RWN for speaking truth in spite of the waves of propaganda bullshit.

W
William Nagel · February 14, 2024

"a clash of purple" shows to be NOT supporting any Patreon creators. How were you able to listen?

G
George P · February 14, 2024

There’s a setting that hides what creators you support. Calm down, my dude.

I
Ivan Lopez · February 14, 2024

Pakistan zindabad! I randomly found a music video from the Pakistani armed forces public relations department. It’s a banger. The only memorable us army propaganda ad I can remember is the marines fighting the giant lava monster from the 90s https://youtu.be/MjxGwfa5lxw?si=I611BBTRFqU0W014

W
William Nagel · February 14, 2024

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Guessing you are another clueless PMC grifter. Ever been in a union?

W
William · February 14, 2024

Imagine having critical thinking skills that allow you to judge the veracity of what someone’s telling you. Or, imagine having the ability to hit the pause button and stop listening

W
William Nagel · February 13, 2024

The guy is a fifth columnist employed to destroy any burgeoning true left movement. FUCK him. C'mon RWN, you can do better!

a
a clash of purple · February 14, 2024

Did you even listen to the episode? And what 'burgeoning true left movement' are you talking about? I'm not aware of any such thing in America. A few people are going to toss protest votes at Cornel West for POTUS, and probably continue to vote Democrat most of the time, or else not vote. That's it. There's no massive general strike or revolutionary movement in the works. Give me a break. If Grim says things that aren't true, I want to know about it, but dismissing him (or RWN) just because he has done bad things in the past makes no sense. At least listen to the episode and point out the specific lies he tells or whatever.

W
William Nagel · February 13, 2024

NOOOOOO, not Ryan DNC POS Grim!!!! This guy is a total fake leftist, Oligarch blow job artist, Democratic party Schill. Check who owns the Intercept. I stopped giving money to Chapo when they had this scumbag on to promote his Squad puff piece book. As a Railroader for 30 plus years I will never forgive this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdxUph85NlA&t=61s&ab_channel=BadFaith

S
SHEEBCORE · February 14, 2024

I was willing to entertain the critique until I saw Bad Faith 🤮 C'mon man it's literally in the name lol
