And while covering Mexico, you might want to include an interview with Misha Glenny, author of McMafia, a Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld, which examines warlords in a global context.

For coverage of the drug wars in Mexico, I HIGHLY recommend an interview with Ioan Grillo, author of Gangster Warlords http://ioangrillo.com/ and El Narco: http://www.ioangrillo.com/el_narco.php. Coverage of those wars doesn't get any better!

RWN is at its best when it looks at unsung battlefields and at wars from the perspective of an Ares-acolyte in it for the love of the game. It’s faltered when it’s tried to fold in the day’s nonsense developments. One thing that should be clear now is that the actual extraction of truth cannot happen in real time; there’s just too much bullshit.

I disagree. I look forward to their comments on the military news of the week and I'm floored when they don't cover it. How insane would it be for a war podcast to refrain from commenting on Iran vs USA with the death of QSM

Here’s to hoping that the next decade will be a more peaceful one, rather than a contra-Pinkerian reversion to the historical mean. Thanks for all you guys (Brendan included) do — have a happy New Year.

Thanks for the timely post, got it in just under the wire! I look forward to listening; some of your best episodes are the more free form ones where you two get to spitball and digress as necessary.
