Studio Update: Hyperbolic
Check out this fancy desk clamp camera arm! No more hugging a tripod and accidentally kicking it out of place constantly for me! Unless I feel like it!
I wanted to test out my new setup so I filmed some playing with leftover Halloween candy. I'll edit the footage tomorrow and see how it comes out.
I put some time into sprucing up the awful blank blue wall into the HYPERBOLIC WALL! It is much better now!
What I really need are proper studio lights. They're not in the budget yet, but I'm looking into setting up an Amazon wish list.
Still on track to hopefully get Calculus part 3 done in a week or so.

Awesome setup! (and even awesomer decorations) RE: lighting, I've messed around a bit with DIY options before and found that a good cheap option is to use fluorescent light bulbs + homemade diffusion screens (parchment paper, plastic trash bags, etc). Which might be an option in the meantime but hopefully you get enough funding so that it won't be a problem :)
Love the new wall. When I was young I couldn't wait until Apple II had 3d graphic software so I could make my own hyperbolic paraboloid.
I've gotta second the curiosity regarding the desk mount. What brand/model is it?
The Hunter-Cam Cradle Mini! Now I gotta check out what is the non-mini version...
I am left wondering about "hugging and kicking a tripod" moods. Also your mic. Your voice recordings are great. Is that a lavalier? A boom? I went crazy padding my space to lose the echo even with a decent lavalier.
I use a Rode NT1-A at the moment. Hope to upgrade someday :D I used to have a great recording room with acoustic padding at my old office. In a pinch, I recommend recording in a car!
I love the multitude of "!" in this post!! :D
It had more... I edited some out, if you can believe it!
