Update v2.9.0 - Quality of Life

No new features this round. I spent this entire update cycle focused on quality of life improvements for the Browse page. Just making the stuff that's already there feel better, faster, and less annoying to use. Here's everything that changed.

Quick shoutout to Amber for the great feedback! Some of these features come from her and also made me realize I needed to put some focus on QOL. So thank you Amber <3

Live announcements

I can now push messages directly into the app in real time. If there's ever a bad bug, a breaking update, or something you need to know about, a scrolling ticker will show up at the bottom of the screen. Messages are color-coded by severity so you can tell at a glance if it's just an FYI or something critical. You can dismiss non-critical ones, and hovering pauses the scroll so you can actually read it. To remove the announcement just hit the little x at the very right of the announcement. This will be useful come patch day so I can warn you about broken mods.

You can actually navigate with your keyboard now

Arrow keys move between file cards, Space toggles selection, Shift+Space for range select, Delete to quarantine, Escape to back out. Ctrl+A selects all, Ctrl+D deselects, Ctrl+I inverts. If you're someone who manages hundreds of files at a time this is going to save you a lot of clicking. Press "?" on the Browse page to see every shortcut.

Shift+click range selection

Click a file, hold Shift, click another file, everything in between gets selected. Works across pages and respects the protected/unprotected boundary so you can't accidentally quarantine something you locked. Shift+click also works in reverse now. If your last click deselected a file, shift+clicking removes the whole range instead.

Grid view or list view, your call

New toggle at the top lets you switch between the thumbnail grid you're used to and a compact list view that fits way more files on screen. Both views have the same right-click menu, same selection behavior, same everything. Your preference saves between sessions.

Right-click context menu

Right-click any file card to Show in Explorer (opens your file manager with the exact file highlighted) or Copy Path to clipboard. Works in both grid and list view.

Double-click preview

Double-click a file to get a larger thumbnail with the file name, size, and category. The preview includes action buttons so you can protect, unprotect, or quarantine without closing it.

Export to CSV

Select files and export them as a CSV with file name, path, size, category, and more. Uses a native save dialog so you choose where it goes. Easy way to visually see thumbnails and allows you to click specific items and share those exact file names with other people that may be asking "what clothes are you sim wearing?"

Undo quarantine

After quarantining files, a toast pops up at the bottom with an Undo button. No more panic when you accidentally quarantine something.

"New" badges

Files that weren't in your last scan show a green "New" badge on their card so you can spot recently added CC immediately.

Filters actually work properly now

CC Type and Build/Buy Type filters show up on Used and Unused tabs now, not just All. Subfolder filtering includes nested files so picking a folder like "Non-Script/CAS Only" actually shows everything inside it. Filters persist between visits. The folder dropdown scrolls instead of running off the screen and total file size displays in the header so you always know what you're looking at.

A bunch of bug fixes

Dropdown menus no longer show file cards bleeding through behind them. Shift+click doesn't break after the first use anymore. The product tour doesn't show Browse-only steps when you're on the Dashboard. Context menus render above everything instead of getting clipped.

First-time hints

If you're new to SimSweep, small floating hints point out the grid/list toggle, shortcut button, and export button the first time you visit Browse. They disappear after a few seconds and don't come back.

This is all live in v2.9.5. Update and let me know what you think.

I also wanted to let you guys know tutorial videos are coming. I originally planned on making those videos today but I shifted my focus to getting these QOL updates out instead. So be on the look out for those, I'll most likely make one long video and then cut it up for the people that are looking only for one specific feature that they may not know how to use correctly.
