Weekly Report 314 - No More Money

How is everybody doing?
This week I focused mainly on the volleyball event… and yeah, I did it again. I went a bit overboard. It turned into a pretty big event with a lot of possible outcomes and variations. There are still a few things I need to fix and adjust, but overall the volleyball event is shaping up to be quite interesting.
Regarding the beach part, my initial plan was to have either Emma or Bea come along. However, considering how complex the event already is with so many variables, I decided not to include Bea. But after reading your comments and realizing I wasn’t the only one who thought Bea would be a good fit for this part, I decided to rework things a bit and include her as well.
So now, either Emma or Bea will come to the beach, which should make the whole event even more interesting. You won’t be able to choose who comes, it will be determined automatically based on what fits the story best, but there will be two different versions of how things play out.
As for the progress bar, I should explain why it barely moved this week. The structure of each episode starts as a list of ideas, basically short lines describing each event. If I have 100 lines, each one represents 1% and this is how I know much of the episode I've written. In the case of the volleyball event, it was just one line: “they play volleyball with forfeits.” So whether I write 100 lines or 1000 lines for that event, it still counts as just 1%. So I am working a lot… the numbers just don’t reflect it very well in this case.

I am only finally getting 'round to playing the most recent update, and I have to say, once again, that this truly is a phenomenal game. The writing above all is EXCELLENT, and the characters really truly feel... REAL. Like.... truly, Royal Candy has a talent for character writing. Additionally, the art is as always incredible. The models, the Direction (i.e. the expressions and poses during a certain delivered line)--honestly, it is all so polished! Not sure if it is experience or sheer talent or both that has made this game/story what it is, but man, I wish more of the industry knew about it. I'll keep supporting as much as I can, but in the meantime.... it might be worth investing in some additional marketing--I really think that others would see the quality of your work and it could help you out immensely!! Regardless, keep up the incredible work!! (And, for what it's worth, Denise is my favourite character--honestly has so much depth to her, and her model is easily one of my top 5 favs of all time).

Oh my goodness! This beach volleyball event is sounding to be awesome! It is going to be interesting who is going to be coming to the event. Thanks for the weekly update Dev, and be careful to not to over work yourself.

How many girls in this event
Tris, Charlotte and Emma or Bea.
Not sure how I feel about it being automatic instead of choice, and I wish they could both come at same time, cause I love them both, plus would make it a bit essier with the volleyball game ending variations instead of doing double the work for either or just have both there. Would make pathign easier too. Just an idea instead of making entirely two different scenes for entire beach. (Edit: but I also just realized may be hard to have both if we have nothing to do with Emma. Bea being there could always be explained fo to Tris, but Not Emma, so I guess this idea isn't great too) Also,I want Emma most of all as my number 1 or 2 girl if I can only have one, even though I like Bea a lot, so I guess I will keep resetting and going back to make different choices happen till it does, hope its not too annoying. And I looked at poll, orange suit is out obviously. I really want black suit during whole beach part...but there may need to be some compromise since its so close, like she starts out in black not knowing plans changed, but we get someone to bring the red suit part way through, or always had and didn't give to her right away. Like I said I want black fully but its so close may need to find a way to do both in some way.
This is supposed to be a Tris and MC alone moment. It wouldn't make sense for the MC to have an impact on this decision since the girl will ruin their plans.
Bea is stunningly beautiful, so glad that she is in the game and in this upcoming episode
