Playable Volleyball game

Hi guys,

While at the beach there will be a volleyball event with forefits. Like other of the previous games they played I want to give you, the player, a little bit of interaction which decides the fate of the game.

Unlike the other games I think going for a menu type of interaction might be stupid, because I'm not sure what sort of choices can I give you, other than, "hit the ball hard", "hit the ball week", "miss".

So instead I was thinking to create some sort of timed minigame. Which will decide the outcome. My plan is not to overdo it in a way that gets annoying, but for the game to be interesting enough they will play a few games.

So my question is, would you rather have:
- Menu based game, like I described above
- Minigame, with timed actions
- Kinetic novel, where you don't have a say on how the game plays, but I decide what would be the most interesting outcome.

Please keep in mind that the outcome of this poll might not be the real outcome. I will check the results based on your support. Someone who has never supported the page won't have the same weight as someone who supports it, or has been with us for years.

I usually like the minigames

Menu....Let us decide for ourselves how the event will end especially if it affects the outcome for multiple paths which I assume Like myself many others are doing. It only adds to aggravation being forced to play mini games multiple times in different playthroughs to affect outcomes. Unfortunately it looks like mini games is winning the poll so if we're stuck with that at least enable a skip option and again let us choose the outcome.

Menu makes the most sense. Here is why: Since we are a 3D visual novel and we are basically narrating the story instead of being the first person view to play minigame. Lets say if our character has no narration and just have pure thoughts only then minigame makes sense. Menu provide an easy, friendly and faster decision rather than minigame where you have to spend tons of hours of figuring things that doesn't work. It cause the players to suffer. Menu all the way!! *But still support the polls result.

I always skip minigames. Always. Prefer menu by far.

I voted for the minigame, as long as it gives enough time and a preferred possible outcome depending on the characters involved and which result the player would favour depending on their favourite character. I also liked "Menu," which gives us choices for the outcomes and allows us to click on them, like the previous drinking game. Definitely NOT Kinetic, what I like about this game is the freedom of choice, the ability to come up with a personal preferred result, and either avoid or engage in actions as we see fit during the playthroughs. As always, I look forward to the next update and the next game within the game hehehe.

There could also be a menu with options like "Left, right and center", and it's timed, and the correct answer depends on where the opponent is moving towards, so the player has to quickly view the image, predict where the opponent is moving towards and click that option. It's like a mix of options 1 and 2

What about maybe random results ? Something like, someone could get hit with the ball and the MC helps them etc, a different mini-scene could play out depending on who it is. Not sure how much would be involved with code etc though. Then the story goes on as normal depending on who wins overall.

I don't like random in an event that is not replayable. For example in a sandbox type of game RNG works perfectly, but here you might feel cheated. The fact that you can't control the outcome and you will never see that event again might not work well.

Seems that people like mini games, I'm not a fan personally. I feel they detract from the story in general. But I seem to be in the minority on that topic.

Hard pass on the timed mini game, never easy for old & slow fans :)

Who is in MC'S team? I am curious now

The game will be a bit different if Emma is MC's girlfriend or not. In case she's not then she won't be at the beach, so maybe there will be someone else. Maybe not. I'm still debating this part.

I'm fine with all choices. I always play my mini-games 😋. Going with Mini-games…

I would prefer both as an option or a skip Option with the preferred result also for multiple playthroughs.

I prefer the same like oliver suggests with kind of multiple individual ending
