AI in No More Money
Hey everyone,
Before the new episode drops, I just wanted to give you a quick heads-up about something.
Since the beginning of Season 4, I’ve occasionally used AI tools to create certain background details like posters, packaging, or screens. These are always supporting elements. I have not used Ai for characters, renders, animations, or text. All the story, writing, and renders you see are fully created by me, as always.
For the upcoming episode, I ended up using AI a bit more than usual. To avoid any confusion, here are some specific examples you’ll see:
Cereal packaging
The painting behind Denise
The TV screen
I want to be upfront about this because I know not everyone feels the same way about AI tools, and I don’t want anyone to join my Patreon and then feeling misled.
For me, AI is just one of many tools, that helps me add atmosphere and details faster. It lets me focus more of my time on what matters most: storytelling, characters development and the visuals.
Thank you all for your support and for giving me the opportunity to keep creating. I hope this clarity helps, and I’m really excited for you to experience the new episode when it drops soon!
P.S. I’m still waiting for the animations to finish rendering, so unfortunately it’s not likely the release will happen this week. I’ll keep you updated as things progress.
Bests,
Jason

Ai Backgrounds and Pictures ,tables etc. is all good.for it, But with Characters not so good yet, i have seen some dev try it in there avn and the characters parts just dont look natural, like the look kinda deform. and when using ai it not really the vision your going for, in my opinion. I Guess as ai gets better it probably will be usefully then, most avn with ai all look too similar in charactar creation too so it not original yet, it just taking what it being told to do or use and most times it just uses what character you intput into it.. They Way Yours using it to Assist is Great. on other parts of the Game that dont mess with your Original Vision of the Characters . Ai can not replace what your writing is either or your vision of it.
Please release it bro :(
Thank you team. 👍
This is of course a valid use of AI, good for you. AI is meant to assist our daily operations and take over some of the remedial tasks. I am glad you can find a good balance between AAI and true development. I am just a fan, what you do and how you create it is above my paygrade sop if it makes your job easier without sacrificing quality, better for you.
Hello, dear game developer NMM! I have a question: you removed the music from the game due to copyright issues, and the game lost 50% of its atmosphere and mood. Maybe you should try using AI to create music for the game? AI's music is not bad, and if it's not copyrighted. why not?
Hi there. I have played around with a few AI music generators, but honestly I was not able to get results that I liked. I'm following 2 projects on this, waiting for new updates maybe it will get better, but right now as someone who's entire life is around music I don't like in the game.
I'm happy these tools are helping you complete this project. I know you were hesitant about continuing to work on it, and as far as I can tell, you are, and always have been, the only person involved in creating NMM. For these reasons, I am not against your use of AI here. However, I am happy that you are being transparent about how you're using them. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Im new to this. If I purchase the newest episode, will I get all of them leading up to the new, or just the new episode
Hi there Brittany. Short answer yes. The last build will always have the whole game, but let me explain you how things work on patreon. Here you don't actually buy a game, but you buy a subscription to all my posts that are for a certain price. For example the download links will always be under a 5$ post. If you pledge 5$ you get access to latest standard edition, but also all the posts that are under 5$ (old games and other posts). If you pledge 20$ you'll get the gold edition and for 40$ you'll get the gold edition 5 days earlier. Again you'll also have access to all the posts that are under 20$ or 40$ since I started this page.
Can’t wait for it! So excited you decided to continue your work! Thank you! Lets go Tris!
The way you are using AI as a supporting element is absolutely fine Dev. The game is so good that it’s hard to tell if AI was even used (imo). As always thanks for the update Dev, the next episode is just around the corner! 🙌🙌😍😍❤️
I think using AI to help add details is a great idea, this allows much more depth without using a tremendous amount of your time! As long as you don't decide to move the game to a phone format with walls of text you should be fine :D
This should also save you some money as Daz props get expensive!
I like how transparent you are with this RC, some devs use it for writing and its good that it's made by you as it feels real like IRL, just had query there was some hints like charlotte going to do or get some jobs like going to a massage parlor job? Is this open or she is going to be an author?
Her working in a massage parlor can be seen as NTR by some people so I decided not to pursue that. She will focus only on writing.
so as you said your going to release the rest episode by episode weekly , monthly or all in one ?
Not sure what do you mean. This episode will be released sometime this month and then I will get started on another one
i don't have a problem with AI..........tho i also have no problem with how things have looked up to now either
Same.
Brother, it's okay. You are the best developer, and that's a fact!
I find all of this fascinating. This started out as a message to the supporters/users about the use of AI and there is already a fairly wide range of opinions in the few respondes already posted. To me, it's not about the tool being used, it's about the skill of the artist/craftsmen/laborer using any new tool. A paint brush may give an advantage to the artist using it over an artist using his fingers. Is this cheating or did it over time, advance the quality of art? I could go on and on with many more examples ranging over a very wide of human endeavors but my personal opinion and point is, I very much like what Jason is achieving with his use of AI. And whether we like it or not, AI may be picked up by a new generation of artist who will take it in a direction we never dreamed of. I like to think that Jason's use of AI is a good example and start of that eventual direction. Thank you Jason for your work in finishing this series. Best wishes to you and your family.
Bro my face hair grown up a lot for waiting new updates 🥲
At least you gained something. I lost some hair making the new update
Using AI as a small indie developer like yourself and making sure the quality of what is made works well is fine. But when big AA or AAA Studios use it to get out of hiring artists and other staff to trim their payroll, that's when it's a problem.
Please 🙏 tell me just when can the update come it's like every post delays the updates by week. Just say it will come next month or in 2 months. Start of the month it was going to be release first half of this month and now it's almost at the month of this month's like just say it will be release next month already
Like I always say I can't estimate it. My goal was for first half of the month, but it was not possible. Here are a few examples of things that didn't go right: 1. A few animations stopped rendering after 10-15 frames so in the morning I was expecting to have an animation done, but it was stuck for no apparent reason other than the fact that I have to use and Alpha version of the 3D software so that night was lost 2. A few other animations got bad settings, which meant another rendering night was lost 3. A few animations got clippings too big to fix in photoshop and it was not visible from the first few frames I checked before going to sleep, so another night lost 4. I got CVOID so for 4 days I was stuck in bed so I was not able to test the game, but at least the animations made some progress The only way for an indie developer like myself to give an actual release day is if I'm adding a big error margin. So if you want that, I can do what I was doing before, say the release will be on 15th September but when the game will be ready next week I'll leave for holiday and return on 15th to release it. This doesn't help anyone. In my "first half of the month" goal there was no room for error. I was aiming for that and I worked overtime to make it happen, but it was just not possible.
I dont even really have any issues with ai for animations within reason. Nice transparency though. You are using these ai tools realistically in a way they should be. Tools to enchance our experience. I have been creating and reskining things on my own for my game, i wisb i knew how to use ai tools to do it for me haha its a pain
These look great 👌🏻. I want some Royal Os 😋. But it look like regular cornflakes... hope it have some marshmallows 😅. Nice painting 😍😛! Ohhh, so that's what they were watching! I could see why it got heated fast 🔥🥰😅. All good, brother... take your time 😉.
To me, it looks fine, with some extra details and product placement that doesn't feel like an actual product placement. The use of AI is moderate, while maintaining the essence of the game's narrative and visuals. I'm in favour of this, and it adds some level of personalised content into the game. The TV and cereal are a nice touch in making this update or the game more unique with certain within-the-universe details.
I find this an acceptable use for AI. As long as it doesn't clash or stand out stupidly
👍
