I have to admit that I feel disappointed that I may not see this to the end...But hey, life goes on. No one can really know for sure where our lives will be in 5 years, 10 years or even tomorrow. So who are we to judge the developer for the direction his life has taken. His actions since the pause and very possible end of development of this game is kind of noble in a way. He seems genuine in his explanation and that alone earns my respect. I've seen other developers simply walk away from their projects or continue to collect money and not do anything to continue their projects or even communicate their lack of progress. When I identify those situations, my final comment before ending my support is "I don't pay for the sound of silence", So for the developer, I wish you well and may your future bring happiness and joy.. I also posted this on stream..........PS If you do hand this off to other developer, pick someone who shares your vision and someone you trust.....Thanks

Hello. I'm in favor of finishing the game before the end. To reassure you, I will say that this is a fictional story and fictional characters. It doesn't promote anything. It's just a fiction with a peppercorn that excites. You can switch to another part of the content. For now, you can make a line with a blonde and a redhead. We all really liked Tris. I also like Denise and Mom. I would really like to see the end of their story. But for now, you can do other storylines.

There is not a person in this world who is not effected by external events. Congrats on the family and making them a priority. Family should always be the priority. If you do not feel comfortable continuing this type of themes, then who are we to stop you from changing course. I would really hope that you find a way to finish No More Money, maybe something that involves all of them finding out in the hot tub? I don't know. There are a lot of complicated characters (that is part of the reason I enjoy the story so much, great graphics and good story with character development). Maybe Darlene finds out about how Kat is manipulating MC, and she goes to the cops, ending that route. There are a lot of paths that should be closed, and based on your work so far. I know that will not be easy to wrap it all up in a neat package. I do believe however, you owe it to your supporters to finish this project. Then either take more time away, or create an entire new project without the taboo aspect. No one can tell you what to do, you have to follow your own path. But it would be a shame to see this project left unfinished. Too many devs just walk away without explanation. You have a strong fan base. I hope that you find a way to finish this project and then charting a new path for your well-being. I can't honestly answer your poll, because I enjoy a good story, AND I enjoy the taboo theme; because I prefer the "household theme" as you put it, but it is not the ONLY thing, just to me a priority, so it is not a black and white that it taboo is the only thing I play or that it only has to be a good story, if that makes sense. As the ending note. I truly love the renders of Charlotte and Tris. Just like this entire post, just my opinion. I hope that whatever you do it is the right thing for you. And at least keep us updated to your decision.

Hi, I get why you decided to stop, I still believe that having such a big fan base that loves your work and has been there supporting for so long it's only fair to give them the end of a story everyone loves. It's not only me that think the same. I believe that there has to be someone willing to take your work with the same love and dedication that you put into it. Remember that at the end of the day if you want to keep working in new projects whatever they are, one big important thing is the trust people have in you. I would recommend that you find a way to deliver your fans an ending so you can keep fan's trust even for the future. I wish you the best. PS NMM is one of the best AVNs don't throw it away!!

Hi RCS, I get what you're saying, it has bothered me in the past too. You have to remember that it is a fictional porn story, it isn't reflective of your character. Personally I have found ignoring that part of the story beneficial (the restaurant scene with charlotte I basically skipped for example). Having said that, there's been a real investment both financially and in time to get to know these characters and the plot. It would be a shame to throw that away. Ultimately you need to think about what is best for your family - both in terms of your mental health and the income you get from Patreon. I'd like to see the game completed - with the household elements removed in some way (changing the dialogue and relationships shouldn't take too long). Obviously, if you decide not to then that is totally fair enough but personally I would then cancel my subscription as I am supporting the creation of the game itself.

Shouldn't you at least have posted an official announcement on Steam? I didn’t even know you had abandoned the game—I bought everything, including the Gold Edition, Season 2, and Season 3. Why did I have to pay for an unfinished game? I understand your personal situation, but what about people like me who purchased the game on Steam? We paid for it legitimately. I go through a lot of games with and without 'household' stuff. I don't care for it, but having it in a game isn't a deal breaker usually - sometimes it's done more gross than others. Sometimes it's included very awkwardly because the creator had to 'dress up' certain taboos to get around censorship, you might find your creativity has a new lease, when you are developing without concern for such things.

Truth is I changed it so none were biological to the mc to begin with. Just cause they live in the same house does not make them related in an obscene way. I too love the story and want it to finish. So many of these games end up unfinished and to be honest I cannot continue to support knowing it would probably happen again.

If you abandon the game because you can't separate fiction from reality, people aren't going to stick around for future games. I play a lot of these games but not once have I looked at my real family and thought "what if..". Who is going to invest in a game when you can just turn around and say "I can't do it anymore". No More Money is great and if you don't finish it, you would be as well ending this Patreon.

If your question is "do I only play visual novels with adult content and family members" then my answer is no. I can respect not wanting to finish your own game in light of personal changes. I support Attackins suggestion to let someone else finish the game. Abandoning the game and leaving all its fans hanging is a different decision than not finishing the game yourself. I understand not wanting to finish it, and I don't think it makes you a bad person for not finishing it. The people leaving the weird comments like "it is not a good example to future generations" is just bonkers. If you can't bring yourself to finishing it, then trying to force it is just going to make a bad product and people will just get mad at you for that. So, what if you got another developer who you like and trust to finish it for you? Give them your assets and code, your outline for the ending, and let them take it off your hands? There are several amazing developers out there who I know would be perfectly capable, and this could give everyone what they want.

I understand where you are coming from, But IMHO, No More Money was about SOOOOO much more than the Taboo. I mean, You could make them Step Family, Adopted Family, or really close family friends and it would still be an amazing story. In the end, you would become like many authors. If you want to make SFW AVNs, I can think of quite a few Storylines you could use, but IDK how much demand there is for SFW AVNs... i know your hardships and we can see your struggle, and yes having a family and making taboo games would be hard, but i am not a fan of people starting something and not finishing. Even if it is a taboo game, it is not a good example to future generations for people to stop when things get hard. One suggestion would be work on the new one but slowly on the other one, spend a half hour on it a week, so long as you finish what you started.

What if in the future for some reason you will abandon another work? After abandoning a game and letting a story unfinished, some people will have No More Trust in your work. I think the best solution is to finish the game with only a final episode or let others continue the story.

Hey Jason, Here is my take. NMM is actually a fantasy sexual game and the 'household' element is just a creative way to be part of the game. I know you just started a family which is great for you irl. But the 'household' element is just a joke in the game and it is not true irl. I feel like you are emphasizing heavily and thinking too much on the 'household' part in the game, which is not true irl. Because as the game progress there are more element such as solving crime, harem and comedy. The main goal I think is that you could treat of the 'household' element as a joke which I am seeing in the game which is great. Because that is something I can laugh about and enjoy. Having 'household' element sometimes is not the worst way that you can't see your kids in they eyes or do not value your family, is just a perspective in my opinion. Think about the 'household' porn movies or porn videos, do you think the 'household' taboo is real? The actresses and actors has family too, they do not feel ashamed or hate. They just shocked because it is something not the whole world accept but it is part of their job to promote the scenes and stories. So don't feel pressured on you do not value your family at all just because it is a job only. And it is your 'dream job' too! My suggestion for this ongoing time is that finish the NMM and putting more comedy elements and treat the 'household' element as some fictional other random characters that is obviously not going to be real. Because you are really close at the finishing line and don't give up just because of some moral 'values' in the mindset that is stopping you. Remember this is just a game that is not happening irl at all. I am going to be honest with you even though I do not have a family or kids yet but I am pretty sure if I have a daughter or son irl, they would enjoy the work like you do and have a great laugh about it which is another time to bond when they reached to the adult age like 21+. As someone new here who just finished seasons 1–3, here’s my honest opinion: I wouldn’t recommend forcing yourself to finish the game if you’re no longer passionate about it. Doing so will likely ruin the game, as happened with Monster College when they wanted to move on, and could harm your reputation. However, I also wouldn’t suggest scrapping it entirely for the same reason. My recommendation is to bring someone on to work on the project while you shift your focus to something else. This way, fans still get the game, and you can keep an eye on it to ensure your vision is executed. Alternatively, if you want a clean break, hand it off to someone trustworthy. This approach protects your reputation while ensuring fans still get the game.

I play NMM *despite* the household taboo (honestly, I always found the whole landlady/roommate/neighbour a bit ridiculous). If it wasn't for Tris I'd probably abandoned this game a long time ago. So, I'm totally OK with you making sexual but non-taboo games. That said, not finishing NMM would be disaponting. Thank you for being honest about how you feel.

Just do whatever floats your boat. I love the "household" angles, I actively search for them, but of the games I support, maybe only half are of that type. If the story is well-told and well-drawn, I'm in. Did I want a finish to NMM? Of course, who wouldn't? But, it's not the be-all, end-all for me where your next project is concerned.

I'm not stuck on the household thing. Consider that the most successful AVNs on Steam are Being a DiK, Acting Lessons and Leap of Faith - these are fun games with an emotional element to them that allows people to connect with the characters in an intimate way. Taboo is not necessary for a game to be entertaining or successful.

First off, thank you for your honesty and openness! I absolutely, 100% get where you're coming from, and would almost certainly feel the same in your position. Second, just personally, the "Taboo" or "household" thing doesn't matter at all to me. Overwhelmingly, the most important thing for me is the art and writing. I've only seen NMM (didn't know you had any other games, tbh), and the art, animation, and writing are some of the best I've seen. Tris is a maddening and irresistible tease, Denise is a true badass and femme fatale--the personalities of the characters are distinct and vibrant, the models are incredibly sexy, and I think your talent will carry over into whatever your next endeavor is, regardless of the game's setting. Rooting for you whatever you decide to do, mate, and thanks for the work you have done.

Idk, I can understand how you feel, but I feel like I would struggle wanting to play your next game. I would be fine with no Taboo element, it's not the defining thing, but knowing We aren't getting an ending to NMM is my main reason. I want to see the ending with Tris and the other characters and just leaving them in limbo leaves a sour taste in my mouth, personally. Once again, I would be fine without the Taboo in the next game, but no happy ending with these characters, is my main problem.

I enjoy a good story well told! I was actually hoping that you would return after NMM and finish Rejected No More - an AVN I felt had great promise. I understand your evolution of thought and it makes no sense for you to intentionally create something that breaks you versus excites you/inspires your creativity. I hope you return with a fire to create something amazing, even if the 'household' aspect is not present. It would certainly give you more 'at home' flexibility than an 8 AM - 6 PM job would. I don't mind the "household" thing; honestly, it bothers me a little when that kind of interaction exists, and I try to avoid them whenever I play. But I would also like to see NMM finished. There are some stories I loved (Lisa), along with the central plot. Maybe that game could be finished, but removing the taboo subject of "household," I hope it can be.

I don't think there's anything to be ashamed of, it's just a job at heart, there's no shame in earning a living, you just have to separate the game from the reality. If that's too much for you, then consider writing a brief outline of what the game will look like and selling it to a developer you trust to at least complete the game, it's also a good idea to give players an explanation

From what you have shown us with “No More Money”, I and your supporters believe that you can make another amazing AVN game that you are comfortable with developing. We are extremely sad that “No More Money” will never be finished. I think you will struggle if you try to make games that Tipper Gore would approve of. I would also caution you from believing people who say otherwise. I work in polling and people often say something they don't really mean if it is an opportunity for value signaling. Animal welfare, for example. There are other hooks you could pick, e.g. netorase, but doing vanilla like "Grey's anatomy" or something like that is a non-starter, I think. You can do some market research and ask people to support two different games. Describe your choices and see where the donations go. Sorry to be a downer, but the fact is that there are a lot of good games out there and I will only support a handful of them. I think a lot of people think like that.

i can understand what you're saying, but for those of us on steam who purchased the game, we need some sort of ending it, even if it's a non-sexual one. a lot of people paid money for your game and some of us even supported you on patreon for a while. i'm not going to sugar coat this, but it pisses me off that another dev has screwed the early access people. trust me, you're not the only dev to do this, but not at least finishing the game will hurt future steam sales, i can guarantee that people will remember and any trust you have with us will go out the window. so there's my opinion. sorry to be so brutally honest.

For a new game, everything can be a new beginning and thus not touch the other game, no more money because the graphics are good, it's just a matter of finding a good story that focuses well, although the other game would almost be left out.

I've played all of your games, and I can say you're one of the most talented AVN creators. I'd, of course, prefer if NMM was completed, as I was invested in it. But honestly, NMM being abandoned wouldn't be a huge loss for the world. I might be the minority, but I actually liked NMS more. What you're going through is understandable, Jason. You be a supporter long enough, and you see some stuff. I actually know another Dev who was in the same situation. They retired from the AVN industry because their double life was affecting them, but they came back a year later with newfound motivations. Sure, I love the taboo, BUT that's just an add-on. It's the story/plot/characters that keep me interested, and I could easily see NMM without the relationships (everyone is either close friends or flatmates 😅). Would I want NMM to be finished before moving on? Yes, but do what you think is best, Jason. Your games has become a part of my life 😅. And I support you wholeheartedly. Not a dealbreaker at all, your games are good and the taboo is nothing but a story choice same as any other. However, it is annoying not to get an end to a story once you start it so imo if you are not going to complete it you should release it totally with your blessing if anyone wishes to continue it 🤷‍♂️

Sometimes (I know that sounds strange) especially when I replay those kind of games I do so skipping the taboo part but using different options just to see different outcomes dialogue options and character traits. Like other people said the taboo part is just an add on But interesting and developing characters are a must to keep me Interested in the game and that's what I really expect, need and like. I would like to suggest selling the story and all new chapter work to another developer that has similar humour and art skills. This will allow us to get a season 2 to complete the story and allow you to move forward with a story you can better relate to.

I like games with a good story, great artwork, and interesting characters. There is something to the taboo aspect that appeals to me in a way, but it's far from the top of my list for rating a game. There is something to be said for incomplete games but I would not even remotely push for this, given your circumstances. As an "old guy" I have found that as we live out lives things change, with those changes often come changes in perspectives and the closer you are to that change, as in your case about as close as it gets, the more impact that change can have. I respect your choice here. So, "do your homework" :)

Maybe going forward to help you produce the a game and not feel the way you do, is by allowing the player to input the "relationship" between the MC and other characters. This would allow it to be as how the player wants the path to be, versus the developer and cause you to be torn. I would love to see the ending of the novel but, if it's something you just can't do then, we will have to accept this. Anyways, good luck, I will be present to see what may come about and may even indulge in something else you create. The storyline has been great.

I probably don't have a say since i only recently bought the game on steam, and i really enjoyed it i really liked the MC and Katrina's relationship and was hoping too see if they end up together or whatever, but then hearing that you were stepping away kind of stung but i respect it cuz your choice comes from a place of love at the end of the day.

Whatever your choice is I can only say the best of luck for you. While it's a hard reality for some of us that the game has to stop when it's about to reach its conclusion, there's no point of doing something if you don't put 100% of your heart and effort there, as it will be reflected in the result. I can't say too much because I only support through Steam unlike some people here that keep supporting since the beginning on Patreon.

Don't mind if you pivot afterwards but losing NMM in the process and what it initially promised would suck. As another poster said I would hope you could just look at it from the MCs perspective as a young man without a family of his own and hopefully just wrap the story up before moving on if that's what you feel like you need. Your confusion lies in the separation of the game from reality and the contradiction between your sense of responsibility to your family and your work content. I can kinda grasp the just of what you're saying, having children and creating a taboo game, but honestly i'd say the internal struggle is only valid, if the circumstances of the game being created is similar to your situation. That being said, i honestly don't know how i'd feel in your situation, there would alot of thought-battles with myself. But all-in-all, abandoning NMM is a tragedy.. Not alot of AVNs even reach this one, to the socks. If you want my opinion, try to look at the story from the MC's POV instead of focusing on the implication of RL possibility, the reason these taboos are popular, is not that they're attractive in real life, but rather a thing that a normal person would NEVER want to happen. Sorry for the book, but it's hard to see the internal struggle happening with you, and i hope you'll find a way to separate it from what you love to do. Not simple, but possible. Much love bro.

Just my two cents as a person who first bought your game on steam and then chose to come over here and start supporting you that here too I'd like to see an ending made for the story even if it's just a quick wrap up ending as long as it still makes sense to the story and then continue to support you for the next game with or without any taboo elements

It'll definitly leave a sour taste for this story which took a long time to be established. Understandable to lose interest, but you'll definitly lose a few people. Just a product of what subscribers were expecting when supporting. Nonetheless, it's better to work on something you want rather than forcing a story you don't feel in touch with anymore
