No More Homework - Main Character

Hi everybody,

Last week, I created a poll to decide what my next game should be, and the clear winner was No More Homework. I understand that some of you have concerns about the abundance of games set in a school environment. I want to assure you that I’ll try to make my game stand out and ensure it doesn’t feel like a copy of existing ones. Personally, returning to a school setting is very exciting for me. I really enjoyed working on No More Secrets, and now creating a game from a teacher’s perspective feels like a refreshing challenge.

As you might have guessed from the title, I have two potential ideas for the main character. The direction I choose will shape the entire game.

Unlike my last post, I do have a personal favorite this time—mostly because it’s a fresh concept for me. However, I also believe that doing something you genuinely enjoy is crucial.

1. Older Main Character

In this option, you’ll play as a man in his 40s. This brings a unique perspective: he has different life values, sees the world through a more experienced lens, and most importantly, has distinct relationships since he’ll take on the role of the "landlord".

Pros
We can explore different types of relationships that haven’t been covered in my previous games.

Cons
We won’t be able to include all potential relationships within the household, such as having a "landlady". I do not plan to include GILFs in my games.

2. Younger Main Character

In this scenario, you’ll play as a man in his late 20s. This character might relate better to his students due to the smaller age gap. While he’s more mature than the main characters from my previous games, he’s still young and navigating his path in life.

Pros
I now have more experience, allowing me to craft a richer, more engaging story for a younger character.

Cons
It risks feeling repetitive, as it may overlap with themes explored in my previous games.

Let me know your thoughts and please know that the results of this poll will depend on multiple factors such as your subscription tier and my personal opinion.

Just to address a potential question upfront: I will not include both characters and let players choose it. Too much work!

Best regards,
Jason

Older MC for sure. Lots of young MCs out there already.

I think older is a little better. You could make him a substitute teacher. This way he gets to go to different schools and meet different options for women. A few schools and their staff competing to try and get him to sign on full-time at their school with plenty of physical incentives. Just think of the various beauties coming to parent-teacher conferences trying to get their child to pass the class

Oh wow another game about a young dude at school. We have never seem a game like this! It is not like the most popular game of this genre Being a Dik is not this exact description. Well that is fine if people want the same thing made 900 times that is on them but I think I am done supporting after No More Money.

How about a younger guy that actually looks younger this time instead of looking like they are in their mid 30's

What about LandLady MC ?

Arash Aria · November 19, 2024

I voted Younger to have Landlady

Luis Iván Flores Vázquez · November 19, 2024

Older sounds like a cool concept, but I voted younger cause I'm 29 and it's more immersive LOL

In fact, I hope that the protagonist of the new game is older, because there are too many games with young protagonists, and with the existence of NO MORE SECRETS, homogenization will be very serious.

i'll check it out either way but voted for the MC you said you were experienced writing for a nice full character.

Painted_Joker · November 19, 2024

Well seems younger will win I voted older but that's ok :) As the game will take place in the same world as before I'm thrilled to see again Whymore or the biology teacher from NMS

Younger was my choice because have a lot more potential experiences

Well, at first glance I was about to vote Older but after reading the full post and the comments, while Older sounded apealing, Younger is not that young and I changed my mind. BTW, Initially I interpreted Older as in "older than the MC from NMM" so I was actually expecting him to be around 30, not in is 40s.

Older is more interesting to me

LewdyDude · November 18, 2024

Definitely want an older MC.

L
LewdyDude · November 18, 2024

nope, if it's younger its better. It'd be nice if a game like beADIK or CK would come out from the dev im not gon lie.

H
HMS · November 18, 2024

Why not get the best of both and make him 33-35? Not young enough that adults think he's lesser, but not old enough for him to be unrelatable to the students.

What about Female protagonist please

R
Raiiin with Three Eyes · November 18, 2024

Younger gives the story more places to go with a longer shelve life while older can easily lead to unintendly problematic relationships.

L
Lando Venturi · November 18, 2024

I’d say to go older and mature, but it ultimately comes down to whatever Dev believes fits the story line. I know Dev will make the best and right decision!

Really want to see the perspective of older teacher myself, but I understand people are more into younger dude because they can identify themselves better.

A 40 yo MC in a school setting sounds like a setup for some really messed up scenarios. But I have to admit, the younger MC does sound like it would just fall into being another repeat.

J
Justin Thorne · November 18, 2024

Personally prefer the younger protagonist but ultimately I wouldn't mind either options as you have a pretty good track record

Y
Yan Rosa™ · November 18, 2024

An older protagonist would give me the idea that he would be a guy trying to get back to his better days while also struggling with adult life.

T
Tiberius · November 18, 2024

I'm afraid this concept does not really excite me and so I will most likely move on after No More Money ends... Sorry.

I probably am too.

I would have love the other games over NMH. I mean, NMT and NMH (Heroes) just sounded so good! But I'll give this a fair chance. How about we meet in the middle, lol 😆. In his 30s. I mean, if I have to choose, I'm going with older. I like my MCs to be older and more mature 😋. I'm fine with no GILFs. That's why we have the students/co-workers and other relationships 🥰!

Yeaah, person in their 32nd year still has the most of the strength and libido of their younger years but they are at the confluence where they must decide on whether to pursue their own career or their own family.

S
Stallion · November 18, 2024

My suggestion would be we should have game with older MC, the current game NO MORE MONEY is about young MC so the new game should be little different it will keep engaging more compared with young MC, Again the final call is yours.

No more homework conjures a younger person to my mind. No more work and No more home on the other hand...
