Deviant Art Future..
Hey guys, hope you're all doing great! I’m dropping by to share my thoughts on the recent DeviantArt rumors. I wanted to leave this here because I don't want to stir up any drama on social media.
There have been some posts hinting that DA might shut down soon. But we need to keep a few things in mind. First and foremost, they handle and make a TON of money. Between subscriptions and content sales.. which goes hand in hand with the boom in AI-generated images.. they are actually doing really well financially. I’m doing well personally, and DA takes a big cut of my sales, just like they do with many other artists.
Now, regarding their recent platform decisions... in my opinion, they’ve made some terrible strategic moves. For example, killing the mobile app and forcing everyone to use the browser. That was a bad call and pissed off a lot of people when they could have simply fixed it or paid for a new one. Then there’s the push for AI, even sponsoring AI posts or creators. To me, that’s just wrong and feels like a slap in the face to original creators, which obviously made people angry. On top of that, there's a new system limiting downloads to 10 posts (I'm not exactly sure if that applies to Core members or not), and people are complaining about that too.
I’ve always had to pay ever since I started as an artist and selling my content. I might be wrong, but I’ve always needed a subscription to sell my own subs or any other comic, so this is just normal to me.
I know many are scared DA will close, but honestly, I think we have a couple of years left before anything like that happens. I also see people complaining about the surge of fetish and NSFW artists leaving SFW creators behind. I don't blame the artists, honestly; as you guys know, fetish content sells a lot, and if it sells, it works for DA too.
To wrap up, I don't think their current strategies are the right ones, but unfortunately, it's out of our hands. Just giving you a heads-up: if the site ever does shut down, I’ll be forced to move everything to Pixiv or in the best case to X (Twitter)

Honestly, I wasn't aware of the situation on DeviantArt. I like going there to follow artists, but I don't care much about it. Your art is by far my favorite. I already follow you on Pixiv, even though I don't use it much. Keep us informed, I want to continue following you on any other platforms you decide to migrate to.
