The Calm Before the Update

Hey everyone!

The release of Zombie's Retreat 2 - v1.0 is near! I wanted to give some of my final thoughts on the update now that it finally comes to a close.

== Release Window ==

First, I am still planning to release the v1.0 update this Saturday, July 11th! Roughly 2 days from this post.

Keep in mind, a 24-48 hour delay is still a possibility. I won't really know if I'll need that time until we get right up to the deadline so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement here. Currently, I don't think I'll need any extra time but that can change.

== v1.0 ==

Zombie's Retreat 2 is a story that I've been cooking up for over 5 years now so to finally reach the climax of the story has been both an incredibly rewarding yet daunting task. I hope you'll find this update to be an exciting and dramatic conclusion to the game's story.

In this update, the main storyline of ZR2 reaches a proper conclusion. If you want to prepare for it, make sure you have completed Meredith's main storyline. I recommend maxing out your HP bar as much as you can and bring some additional healing items just in case ;)

Meredith also has 3 brand new scenes in this update so for fans of her, you should have some nice content to enjoy!

There's other art, characters, etc that are introduced in this update but I want to save some surprises!

As far as additional features, there's still so much to be done. Finishing the story events took so much longer than I imagined. So there are a lot of extra features I had planned that just didn't made the cut for v1.0. A new facility that displays "achievements" of sorts, a permanent spot for the seasonal events to be obtained, extra building options in the grid, etc; a lot of these ideas are partially complete, but won't be ready quite yet. But just know these ideas are planned to be finished over the next few updates!

== v1.1 & Beyond ==

The next update, v1.1 is already in progress and will introduce a new side-quest character in Crimson City. Additionally, I plan to work on several of the features that didn't quite make it to v1.0.

After v1.0 releases, it'll be business as usual here. I plan to share a first look at the new v1.1 update pretty soon afterward. The adventures in Crimson City aren't over yet!

ICYMI - I plan on updating ZR2 further with a few more updates in mind even after the v1.0 release. So you'll be getting more content! That includes more stuff at the Colosseum and yes, that does include Violet (probably v1.2?). So I hope you're excited to see the game continue on!

For those who are waiting until the game is 'complete' before playing, I think v1.0 is a perfectly fine place to begin. The future updates that I have planned are all supplementary content; side quests, optional events, etc.

It's been quite a journey to get to this point! Thank you for being a part of it and for playing Zombie's Retreat 2.
