Project-Realish 1.5 — New Level
Project-Realish 1.5 is the biggest visual step forward for the project so far.
Don't let the current 20 FPS confusion; after making a few adjustments, it returns to normal FPS values.
This version has been rebuilt around one goal: making Euro Truck Simulator 2 feel less like a game and more like a real driving environment.
The new build focuses on the parts that create realism together — not just color, not just sharpness, and not just lighting. The whole scene now reacts more naturally as one visual system.
🌄 Landscape & Environment Realism
The environment has been reworked to feel denser, more natural, and more believable at distance.
Mountains, forests, roadside vegetation, terrain, asphalt, barriers, buildings, and distant scenery now have stronger depth separation and a much more realistic sense of scale.
The goal is to remove the flat “game world” feeling and make landscapes look more like real European roads captured by a camera.
☀️ New Lighting System
Lighting has received one of the biggest improvements in Project-Realish 1.5.
Sunlight now creates more convincing highlights, deeper shadow transitions, stronger scene depth, and a much more natural relationship between bright and dark areas.
Vehicles no longer look disconnected from the environment.
The truck, road, vegetation, terrain, buildings, and surrounding objects now feel like they are being illuminated by the same physical light source, creating a far more cohesive image.
🧱 Improved Material Response
Materials have been heavily refined.
Paint, glass, metal, plastic, rubber, asphalt, vegetation, concrete, and other surfaces now react more convincingly to lighting.
Truck paint has stronger depth and reflections.
Tires look darker and more grounded.
Metal parts respond more naturally to highlights.
Road surfaces show more texture and material variation.
Vegetation no longer reacts to sunlight like a flat texture.
The result is a much stronger sense of surface identity across the entire scene.
🌙 Completely Reworked Night Realism
Night driving has also received a major overhaul in 1.5.
The previous game-like darkness has been replaced with a much more natural night atmosphere.
Headlights, taillights, streetlights, dashboard illumination, distant lights, and environmental darkness now work together more realistically.
Dark areas remain dark without destroying visible detail, while artificial light sources create stronger separation and more believable illumination.
Night driving now feels heavier, deeper, and much closer to real road footage.
🌧️ Better Weather & Surface Behaviour
Weather conditions now have a stronger influence on the visual scene.
Wet roads, cloudy conditions, reflections, darker materials, changing sky brightness, and environmental contrast react more naturally together instead of feeling like separate effects.
This makes every weather condition feel more distinct and believable.
🎥 Project-Realish 1.5 Philosophy
Project-Realish is not about oversaturating ETS2 or simply adding more effects.
The goal is to improve:
Light.
Depth.
Material response.
Atmosphere.
Surface behaviour.
Landscape realism.
Night realism.
Overall visual coherence.
Everything in Project-Realish 1.5 is designed around one idea:
Make every frame feel closer to real-world photography.
This update represents the strongest version of Project-Realish so far, and development will continue from this new visual foundation.

I wanna ask something before i get this, will this work with the mega map combos, or is it strictly limitied to scs maps (incl dlc) and promods?
Slt je possède une carte graphique amd RX 7900 GRE, ca fonctionne dessus ?
Please check the latest post, sir.
can run with RTX 30 series? no need Snowymoon?
So this is only for Nvidia?
Do you mainly focus on ETS?
I'm adding it to ETS2 and ATS first, because they currently have a closed RN system. So adding it to all subsequent games will be a very easy task.
hello, ou puis-je le télécharger ?
Hello, it will be available for download soon.
Hola una pregunta funciona para Ats?
Hi. We've also done it for ATS, it will be coming soon.
