Election Wrap-up!
Dear Patrons
Wow.
We, Australian voters, got rid of one of the most corrupt and worst governments on climate in the industrialised world. So let's take a minute to appreciate this victory.
I made this quick election wrap-up video to also reflect on the broader significance of this history-defining moment. And to acknowledge the tireless work of many, many people who made this election outcome possible.
I think it's safe to say that The Juice Media played a significant role in this outcome; not just by chronicling the Morrison Government's shitfuckery, but perhaps even more importantly - by helping voters to understand how to use preferential voting to its full potential: arguably the key mechanism that allowed voters to unlock this Not-Shit election result for climate.
And I'd like all of you, our Patrons, to please share in the sense of having contributed to this outcome. Because without your ongoing monthly support, we could never have had the time and resources to think, write, research and produce all the Honest Government Ads and Podcasts these past three years.
So what now?
The fight against the climate and extinction crisis is far from over - this is just the start of the next chapter. So, we'll be keeping a close eye on this new government and continue to help keep it honest - on climate and other issues too - as well as other governments around the world.
But first we'll take a very short break to spend some family time together, savour this historic election result, and get ready to launch into Season 3.

Thank you Dame-Claire, but where did I say "we now have a Climate Government?" I don't remember saying that?
Love your work, but viewing your post-election video saying that we now have a Climate Government - it's now 1 yr later, and 2 days after the Budget... The Australia Institute say that the 5% tax increase on tobacco will net the government FIVE TIMES as much as the increase on the PRRT will!!!! We are basically giving our gas away, profits going to foreign shareholders. Maybe you could concentrate on the evils of the Fossil Fuel industry in Australia, who have the two party system captured!! The Climate Emergency can't wait for Labor to "change their mind", they have to be forced!! Thanks.

What bugs me is that whenever ABC (don't know about the others) shows visuals to go with some serious development re Voice from the Heart or some such, they always show first Australians doing traditional dances. But they never show the colonial side doing their traditional dances. Any chance of JM putting this right? With some very serious new item on audio...

Enjoy well deserved family time and re-set. You have been a catalyst for so much ,and your skill and humour has world wild appeal. With others ,such as SimonHolmes A 'Court with Climate 200, and Mike Cannon-Brooks, a new government already a huge improvement only 2 weeks in, we are living history and a renaissance, and feeling of hope after leaving the 'dark ages' behind.

While I agree with most of the things you said in this video I don't think the UK & USA will ever dare to adopt our election system after we demonstrated how to use it as it would be death to them and I don't think they will try it. It would be great if they did but I think it's got no chance but maybe they will put something in that is better than what they have now especially the USA! I would like to see one thing from the USA voting system and that is being able to put partitions onto the ballot so the people can force them to do something about a issue I think that would be wonderful to add to our system and to see what would be forced into our laws and parliament What would you like to add to our system to make it better?

How wonderful to devote your professional and family life even, to the existential threat of our times Giordano. And to have and give such fun to what is otherwise a cause for great heaviness. Australia will be a monetarily poorer nation without its fossil fuel revenue. Easy money. Now’s the time to get smart and bring in visionary industries that benefit the living world.I’d love to see you promoting innovation and research. I am so elated over the encouraging results of your election! But I'm also glad to hear that you recognize the need not to let up, to keep monitoring the new government closely, because we all know that, no matter how votes are cast, the greedy fossil fools are not about to throw in the towel. Even now you can bet that they're holding board meetings to plan yet another dirty strategy to keep making the ching-ching while broiling the planet and rendering other species extinct. I wish with all my heart that we could adopt a preferential, even compulsory voting system here in the USA, but I seriously doubt it will ever happen. The Shit and Shit-Lite parties would never allow it because their puppet-master donors would never allow it. Just look at the situation with gun control in this country and you can easily see the parallel with climate action. Keep up the good work, and perhaps, maybe, possibly your efforts will help us here in our feudal kingdom.

Please do a video on American gun laws. A system that allows anyone to get an assault rifle, murder a class of children and then do absolutely nothing about it is seriously fucked up.
This is such a messed up issue - I would love to make an HGA about this if I can find a productive way of doing it

Congrats team! Things I'd like to see future episodes cover are state and federal police/intelligence overreach powers. Anti-protest laws, WA's imminent border police shitfuckery, border force able to just wander off with your phone for a while because the fact you wouldn't unlock it for them gives them "reasonable grounds" to go do something with it... Etc. Carrying on from the previous great episode (s?) you've done in this space

Congratulations JM. Vic gov't election is coming up. They are about to introduce $21k fine / 12 months jail for protest against logging. Democratic right to protest shut down and trees can't speak
