Honest Government Ad | The Floods
Dear Patrons
Here is our latest Honest Government Ad that you've helped us to produce.
I was planning to make an election ad this month. But by now it's patently clear that we're in an era of spiralling disasters - environmental, social and humanitarian. So I am going to just try and chronicle these times to help us stay sane and informed, and hopefully channel the rage in the right directions.
This is obviously a very serious and tragic event, so whilst the satire directs ridicule at those whose policies are responsible for the magnitude of this disaster - I am mindful that it is also a very raw and sensitive topic for many people affected - some of whom I know are among our Patrons. I hope we have done it justice.
For this reason we are also encouraging people who can afford to, to support some of the flood recovery fundraisers. There are many, but we've picked three which have been recommended:
Bundjalung Community Fund Relief - by Koori Mail
Flood Help Northern Rivers - by Resilient Lismore
GIVIT: Storms & Flooding - this one allows you to donate specific items
Also, by popular request - we've finally got Department for Thoughts & Prayers merch! All profits from sales will go towards helping communities recover from the floods in NSW and Qld.
There's more to say, but I'll leave it for the podcast companion to this HGA, which we'll get to work on now.
I will say one thing though (you've heard it a hundred times before - but you need to hear it again): thank you for making this work possible.

the last 2 HGAs are a tandem message. There is a danger of 'a pox on both your houses' mentality and a misunderstanding that a vote for Clive Palmer's UPA is a 'protest vote'. It’s as though the words came directly out of the self interested, cynical, traitorous, lying mouths of Morrison and his cronies, wonderful Juice Media team. The abandonment of ANY climate action and of the victims of that dereliction of duty is scandalous. The Liberal idea of small government has moved on to the actuality of NO government whatsoever. Great work once again Juice Media. It's all so powerful and so accurate, particularly the fact that these hollow men really are just the useful idiots serving some mega-planet-destroying-interests. Have you considered speaking with Scott Ludlam about 'state capture'?
I had Scott on the podcast back in 2019 just before the fires - but yes definitely keen to get him back on some time soon!

Refreshing there are honest ads to counter the abuses of power enabled by silent figures who we expect more from who bully those they’re supposed to support.
Once again you have highlighted the despicable protection of the major contributors to climate change who have captured the present government. Well done.
