Honest Government Ads Update + Bloopers!
Dear Patrons,
Giordano here with a quick update as we get ready to dive into Season 2 of the Honest Government Ads.
I don't know about you but we needed a little break, and some family time, after the flurry of activity leading up to the Australian federal election. We spent the first week of it getting sick - which in retrospect feels like an appropriate physical response to the election results...
And now I'm making the most of this time to do some maintenance before we get back into production.
We've revamped our website - check it out: https://www.thejuicemedia.com
Thanks to Zoe and Dirk (one of our awesome Top Patrons) for working on this!
I'm getting the PC fixed - coz lately it's been giving me major grief during editing. Thanks to Ash and Amel (another one of our legendary Top Patrons) for helping us with this.
And I'm in the process of researching podcasts so we can get this going soon.
The idea of the Juice Media podcast is that it would allow me to go into more depth about the issues covered in each Honest Government Ad. So it will hopefully feature extra juicy bits of information and background which ended up on the cutting floor, as well as the occasional interview with experts I might have consulted. And maybe also responses to questions and criticisms in the comment section. We'll see, I'm new to this - but very keen to expand into this medium.
If you have any suggestions or requests for what else the podcast should feature, let us know! I'm in the process of reading and taking advice from podcast-savvy people.
We'll be back in production by mid June - ready to cover a whole new season of Government shitfuckery. And not only the Australien Government - we've got a few international ones in the pipeline, too.
In the meantime, I put this blooper reel together for your enjoyment! I hope you get a laugh out of it - we always have fun filming and I thought this might give you a glimpse of what happens on the Honest Governt Ads set! Luca has also taken great interest in it which is why he makes a few appearances, too :D
As always, thank you for supporting Honest Government Ads and genuine satire, and we'll catch you soon with a new video.

love this... brings an extra smile to my face when watching the final edits
:)
Yep, good to see some behind the scenes fun!
We should have more frequent bts and bloopers - there's so many!
Love it! So great to see how it's made
Wait... so these vids have been sync'd this whole time? ... Just like our industry strung government puppets!
Are the voice over actors and presenters different people?
Yes Lucy does the voice, and Zoë and Ellen lip sync to it. Except in the last two videos, where we had both Zoë and Ellen - in those we had Ellen doing her own voice to avoid them sounding the same! I'll explain why we do it this way at some stage - probably in one of the first podcasts :)
Sensational - the kids just made the bloopers. Keep up the great work and gagging for the impending poddy... looks like I will spend even more of my day with headphones on
Thanks Mark, we will :)
Wow, that is some incredibly hard dialogue to lip-sync! Well done!
Yeah Ellen and Zoë have gotten so good at it!
We have the same heater (bottom right of frame)
You have a very sharp eye (and good taste in heaters!)
Thanks for sharing the bloopers! We need a bit of a chuckle right now. I so admire your work, you are all amazing! Including Luca, what a little darling, a reminder of why Honest Government Ads are so important! :)
You'rewelcome Sally, glad you got a laugh out of it. And yes, Luca has been my greatest motivator these past 18 months - I agree!
Hilarious! I knew that you made these vids at home but it's just funny to see your gorgeous little "infiltrator" make a cameo. All of you do such an amazing job raising awareness of the issues in Australia and internationally. A big thank you to all of you! Cheers :)
Thanks Cam! Yeah, Luca is always trying to get onto the set - I think soon we'll have to give him his own show
Very Sweet. Thanks for sharing :)
You're welcome, Trisha "-)
The IT nerd in me wants to know what the specs of your editing rig are? Kinda sucks it couldn't hold out a little longer with Zen2 coming out so soon. Edit: then again, you might be using full on HEDT stuff rather than consumer grade stuff, no idea when the Zen2 Threadrippers come out
Here you go Ashley! Let me know what you think! https://www.dropbox.com/s/ete6dpzo0dr6hia/2018_JuicePC.png?dl=0
This may surprise you as I am someone who flinches at "vulgar" language; but I found it poignant and human. All that matters was in your arms.
Agreed! :) <3
Even your bloopers real makes me smile. Look forward to the next season. My “Genuine Satire” shirt arrived- very happy with the quality.
Oh so glad you received the t-shirt! And yeah, these new items we're selling are such nice quality! The hoodies in particular are dreamy :)
Love you guys
<3 right back at ya
I too am impressed with the lip-sync. Nice insight into the shooting - thanks for sharing that :)
No worries, it's nice to give Patrons a bit more of an glimpse of how we make the videos. One day it would be fun to show the process from start to finish!
grazie mille! 😊
Prego!
Hahaha! And wow, that lip sync is spectacular.
Giving away our tricks :P
Sounds like it should be called The Extra Juicy Podcast!
Thanks for the suggestion - that could work!
