Honest Government Ad | Alcoa: How to be 'Merica's bitch
Dear Patrons
Here is the latest Honest Government Ad you've helped us to produce:
Honest Government Ad | Alcoa: How to be 'Merica's Bitch
After we published our Woodside HGA, we had a lot of WA folks in the comments asking us to look into what's happening there with Alcoa. And when I did, I knew this had to be our next episode.
Not just because we recenly moved to Western Australia, and this is a chance to make ourselves useful here. But also because it provides a chance to show how we can resist Trumpfuckyfascism by taking local action; in this case, by protecting the Northern Jarrah Forrest (as the Lorax would want).
There's a real opportunity to do something about this right now. Thanks to the tireless work of campaigners (like Jess Beckerling, Ricky England, the WA Forest Alliance, and others), the WA State government is finally reviewing Alcoa's proposal to extend forest mining to 2045.
But only if people are aware of what's happening and make some serious noise.
Which is why we made this HGA to sum it all up in under 3 mins. So if you have friends/fam in Perth/WA, please share it with them. Along with this link to the March that's taking place there on Sunday: https://marchforforests.org/location/perth
(Not in Perth? there are marches happening across the nation)
We're stoked to have Lucy Peach back in to host this HGA. As well as being a well-known WA folksinger, writer and educator, Lucy has been actively campaigning to protect the Jarrah forest from forest mining.
So it's truly fitting for her to host this episode.
In other news: our last HGA about Woodside did well, receiving 1M views on Insta and almost half a million on FB, in just the last fortnight.
(By the way, Woodside just announced their new CEO today! Good luck to Liz inheriting Meg's portoflio of troubled LNG assets).
As always, thank you for making it possible for us to do this important work. It's only thanks to you that we are able to lend folks a hand to amplify these kinds of stories.
Let us know what you'd like us to cover next.

Don't mention Antimony...
Not to mention antimony uses, Deep cycle storage batteries, some use in cell construction for lithium batteries, applications in semi-conductor materials (Don't mention the military applications for our new export to America. If POS was a Chinese Emperor, would Australia or the OZ leader be a Shih Tzu lapdog?
Devastating! The March for Forests you feature at the end is taking place nationwide from many regional centres like here in Lismore N.S.W. to all major cities! So to all Aussie Juice Media lovers - See you there, Sunday 22/3, everywhere!
So glad you made it to the march - it seems to have been a great turnout!
I wish these ads were permitted on free-to-air TV after 8pm. I'd actually watch free-to-air then.
You all rock! I love these vids, they're smart, hilarious, and (unfortunately) necessary. Alcoa, as a corporation, are shortsighted asshats, much like most mining/drilling/any-other-process-that-can-possibly-fuck-with-the-environment operation, and can fuck off into the bowels of whatever hell would take them. Feel free to use that description in your next video :)
Cheeses Crust! The unhinged shit gibbon's infection spreads halfway around the planet. Since his cronies are pushing to deregulate all environmental protections, bet'cha Alcoa will just say that they can get away with this destruction here, so why not in Oz also?
No, that cancerous polyp on the anus of humanity will fine Alcoa for not doing enough damage until they donate millions to his "Presidential Library," at which point he'll declare them true patriots.
Excellent job! Having submitted several pieces of feedback to parliament, the EPA, and the Dept of Biodiversity, I can confidently say that the WA Govt doesn't give a shit about what people want. They are neck deep in the pockets of all the mining companies. The notice I got from Dept Biodiversity about this new approval was insulting to everyone involved.
Thanks for taking to do that Tyson - it all helps!
It seems that the reserves of Australian Government shitfuckery are near inexhaustible.
if only we could tap into it as a source of renewable energy....
Great work once again. I love the reference to the Lorax. The underlying problem of course is our political donation system and strong lobbying by the miners. Unless we address this, we're unlikely to make much progress.
How good is the Lorax!
thx G & team for another surgical strike on our latest spineless surrender to the great satan for literally zero national return. At least our strong and incorruptible leaders have nationalised our hydrocarbon/rare earth/military/all other reserves to redirect them internally for the national good and are certainly not giving them away to these pricks for their own personal gain! 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸
So good Gteam, let's hope it has an impact.
Thanks Ian, I think it helped to get a lot more people to the march in Perth :)
Nice one! I wasn't aware of this particular brand of shitfuckery until now. It really stinks! Thanks for getting the word out there!
