I know the world's eyes are on the US, awaiting the outcome of this crucial election, but there is other other shitfuckery happening on the other side of the planet - and with that in mind...
Here is the preview to this month's new Honest Government Ad!
I will have more to say about this very special HGA when I publish the video (hopefully tomorrow). But for now I just want to let you know that it features a very special guest actor.
Her name is Ingyin and she is a refugee from the 2021 military coup in Myanmar. And if you know about the conflict in Myanmar, I'm sure you'll appreciate how brave it is of her to host this HGA. (If you don't, then this HGA will give you a good overview in under 5 minutes!)
So as you can imagine, we are honoured to welcome Ingyin on the set for this HGA - alongside Ellen/Lucy, who play 10 other roles in it.
If you have any feedback please let me know in the comments - as always you're the first ones to hear the HGAs before they go public.

Thank you. Just saw the video on youtube, I wonder how long it'll stays up, or will the Junta follow the lead of the Indian Govt (and the Tasmanian state govt.. LOL) and have it removed. Hopefully Ed from Ed's Military Matters on youtube will see this "infomercial" He's been shedding light on Myanmar's woes for a long time and I think will appreciate another voice.

Shining your brilliant light on yet another awful situation in the world. Your research into all the ways in which Myanmar's junta is being supported is amazing and chilling. It gives a blueprint of how such fuckers not only take over but then dig in roots by appealing to the greed of so many countries and multinationals who are more than willing to suck up cash, even if it is cash that comes at the cost of human lives. After all, like the proverbial tree in the woods, if nobody that matters sees a death happen, did it really happen? What a truly sick situation - I knew it was bad, but didn't realize how deep and broadly the rot spreads ...
Myanmar, where government's of all shades come together to support brutal tyrants. I remember, in the early '80's, my parents finally getting across to me that this sort of thing kept happening, plus ca change.

Quite right Jason! I actually had a line in there in an earliest draft pointing out that the Myanmar election was on Nov 8 2020 (3 days after the US election) and the junta's response was to claim (without evidence of course) that the election had been rigged. Based on this they staged their on Feb 1, 2021 (3 weeks after the attempted coup in the US) - yet it received a fraction of the news coverage. They basically did what Trump tried and failed to do

Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention Jay! I think the reason this didn't make it in the script is that it appears those sales were from before the coup in 2021. I see now that Israel did continue selling arms even in 2022... but I am not sure that this is still happening now. There are quite a few other countries I would have liked to mention, including Australia, but we had to stick to the key players to avoid it becomeing a documentary length episode! I was living in Thailand before the Myanmar coup and had a travel plan all made to go through Myanmar, Bangladesh, NE India, Bhutan and Nepal but it all fell apart when the army started murdering their own people in the streets. I'm glad you're making this to get the word out after inaction by any country or organization.
Here's to one day being able to travel to a free and democratic Myanmar
