DOCTRINAL ERRORS OF ANDY STANLEY
The 1611 Fellowship discusses some of Andy Stanley's many doctrinal errors. We start with "Word of the Week" by Hillis Waddell. Below are my notes on Stanley.
ANDY STANLEY'S DOCTRINAL ERRORS
Evolution vs. Creationism (no matter) Genesis not an “how” book; rather, “that”
NOTE: Engineering principles of order and physics?
Answering falsely is okay, if it accommodates what you perceive to be the level of understanding of the person. Thus, the sun “stood still” the “rising and setting of the sun,” et al. God’s way of communicating with man incapable of understanding complex scientific models. Stanley elevates science to an equal station with that of God.
We don’t understand and believe Jesus rose from the dead because the Bible teaches it, but because of the evidence. Thus, evidence which is perception-based takes priority over the absolute truth of the word of God.
No Bible until the fourth century.
5. “If the Bible is the foundation of your faith, here’s the problem: it’s all or nothing. Christianity becomes a fragile house of cards religion.”
6. Andy Stanley said, “Christianity ultimately and eventually created the Bible.”
7. Andy Stanley said, “If someone can predict their own death and resurrection, I’m not all that concerned about how they got into the world.” (In other words the role of the Holy Spirit is irrelevant to Andy.)
8. Andy Stanley said, “The Christian faith must be unhitched from the Old Testament.”
(NOTE: Jesus said to the Pharisees, if you believed Moses you would believe me.)
9. “I am convinced for the sake of this generation and the next generation, we have to rethink our apologetic as Christians, and the less we depend on the Old Testament to prop up our New Testament faith the better because of where we are in culture.”
10. “The Old Testament is a collection of books that describes God’s covenant with ancient Israel…it is not the go-to source regarding any behavior in the church.”
*From Albert Mohler’s website and Stanley’s book, “Irresistible.”
NOTE: Andy Stanley’s personal net worth is around 45 million dollars. Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.cAndy Stanley appears to be a partial dispensationalist. He is not a Calvinist. Charles Stanley, his father, was a full dispensationalist, but not a Calvinist. When Charles died he left behind a church empire worth 113 million dollars. His personal worth was in the millions.
FALSE APOSTLES
2 Corinthians 11: 13 “For such are false Apostles, deceitfull workers, transforming themselues into the Apostles of Christ. 14 And no marueile, for Sathan himselfe is transformed into an angel of light.”
NOTE: Scripture on teachers, James 3:1 teachers will be judged by God more harshly.

Who knows what really happened, but that's the official story.
I never knew Charles Stanley had a son. His wife left him, he was so involved in the church his wife may have had feelings like a Dolly Parton song "I'd only be in your way". The church told him he could kept on preaching as long as he never remarried again, that happened he passed away at 90 years old.
I am glad I have never heard of this person. I thank the Lord that he kept me away from many false teachers before I became fully in dwelt by the Holy Spirit. I had other tribulations but they are minor when compared to falling victim to the supposed Christian deceivers who, by their false teaching "shut vp the kingdom of heauen against men: For yee neither goe in your selues, neither suffer ye them that are entring, to goe in." Matthew 23:13 Youtube Christianity was some of the milk I devoured .. . and led me first to John's work then yours . . . . but now I know that most of these people have such poor understanding when compared to the likes of you and John and this community. And some are purposeful deceivers.
Also, if you accept Biblical cosmology . . a fixed earth and heaven . . a sun and moon that are near light sources created by God within that system . . you will never look up into heaven again without the immediate emotional response and connection to a close and present God who is . . right here with us! This understanding was incredibly important part of my walk which led me to stop accepting "science (which simply means knowledge)" that is not firmly grounded in my Biblical understanding. The Bible fully explains our physical world. And when you embrace that and seek out that understanding, you see modern deception (Darwinism, etc) very clearly.
VERY relevant!
