OBEDIENCE TO GOVERNMENT, ROMANS 13. PART 2.

The 1611 Fellowship continues to explore Romans 13: 5-14. Paul finishes the chapter by saying obedience to godly ordinances is part of Jesus' commandment to treat others as we want to be treated. This means putting on the fullness of Jesus Christ. Next week we will tackle a new subject. God Bless.

Rendering appropriately is such an overlooked topic. The Three Gospel accounts regarding the penny's superscription and rendering between that which is God's and that which is Caesar's can be applied to multiple issues today, such as that which surrounds 501c3 institutionalism, "Christian Zionism", and "Christian Nationalism". "...Wee have no king but Cesar" comes to mind. The same union that was instrumental in Crucifying our Precious Lord manifests itself today through the false doctrines attached to Genetic and Geopolitical idolatry, fueled by the filthiness of Mystery Babylon and her Pontifex Maximus. There is no new thing vnder the sunne.

I don't understand how some 501c3 churches (that's pretty much all of them), contract with the government agreeing to place Caesar above Christ, but then insist they teach strict adherence to what God's word says. I was in one such church.

Thank you Reg for this follow-up. Your point about being accountable to each other rings true and is consistent with our King being Jesus Christ. Perfect Government. For my own part, I do not spent any time or effort focusing emotional hatred on government leaders I don't agree with. I don't know them personally nor all of the facts and circumstances that surround their decision-making. Like anyone else, they need God's grace and are free to accept it and repent. Very often however, as a believer and as is prophesied in the Word, I hate the the actions taken by government leaders as being unlawful and against God's will. As Christians, we are to hate the World and sin. My spirit groans often at these unlawful official actions. We know the Governmental systems in the End Times are a big part of the Beast of Revelation. They are an aspect of Leviathan from the Book of Job. And we know that the leaders of nations conspire together against God and his Elect. Psalms 2:2. As such, we are not to worship it/take the Beast's mark. These governments make war against the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them (Rev 17:14) with Jesus' sWORD! I think there is a separate related aspect to your teaching on this and that is . . . ...speaking the Truth. There are many times when speaking the Truth to those who occupy higher positions in government cuts them to their heart and is an offense to their ears. John speaking to Herod. Jesus speaking to the Pharisees. Stephen to the Pharisees. Elijah and Jezebel/Prophets of Baal. Jeremiah/Isaiah and other OT prophets and their admonitions to Israel. Moses to Pharoah. Jesus to Satan. These statements are not well received by Worldly leaders. Such situations are like unto the prior teaching when we refuse to transgress God's law despite government's direction to do so. However, in these cases when we speak Truth, we, as instruments of Jesus Christ, are admonishing leaders for their transgressions. Such admonitions are demostrations of Godly Love. In extreme circumstances, these statements may cost us our lives (see John/Stephen) . . but, if spoken in the proper spirit, such expression is righteous and lawful. And consistent with being lights shining in the darkness.

Indeed the prophets did confront leaders when they were transgressing God's law, and some lost their lives - John the Baptist comes to mind.
