IDSG Bonus 39: In The Line of Fire

A new bonus episode for you all, and another one sort of about the US presidency. After watching the complete biff of an Eastwood vehicle for Absolute Power a couple of weeks ago, Jack and I wanted to watch something we remembered more fondly on some of the same themes, and so we picked In the Line of Fire (1993). This one was directed by Wolfgang Petersen, who also did Air Force One, which we liked much less than this one.

We have a news brief episode recorded that should be out shortly covering the right-wing response to the JFK Files, which will be available on the public feed.

As always I thank you all for your continued support. I've been able to return to work as of today, although I'm still in the place of looking for a better job and a new place to live given the impending divorce. (If anyone has the lead on a WFH job for someone with a chemistry background, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.)

Here's the making-of documentary on In the Line of Fire I mentioned in the episode, if anyone is interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyJ7-VkHLfE&pp=ygUdaW4gdGhlIGxpbmUgb2YgZmlyZSBtYWtpbmcgb2Y%3D
