Frederick the Great
Join us while we talk about a genuine Wardick. Despite this reputation, Frederick, lived a colorful and fascinating life with more twists and turns than you can imagine. Plus he was gay. We loooove a gay king.

Ok. Want to know how he made the potato popular? So the peasants wouldn’t buy them or eat them no matter what. So Fredrick planted fields of potatoes and stationed guards around the fields to guard them. The guards were under orders not to harm the peasants and not to stop anyone from stealing them. So that’s what the peasants did. Once they thought the potatos were special and important, they stole them and ate them. And that’s how potatoes caught on.
It’s true. I’ve been to his palace outside Berlin & people still leave potatoes on his grave.
