Katy Reads the Classics: Rebecca (ch 7-9)

Welcome back Katy Reads the Classics So You Don't Have to! We're covering Chapters 7-9 of Rebecca. This week we're finally at Manderley... and our girl immediately realizes she's in way over her head.

We meet the unforgettable Mrs. Danvers, tour the house that feels more like a character than a setting, and watch our narrator try (and repeatedly fail) to figure out what exactly the Lady of Manderley is supposed to do all day. Meanwhile, Rebecca somehow manages to dominate every room despite being dead.

We're talking imposter syndrome, class anxiety, invisible women, and why Manderley may be the most passive-aggressive house ever built.
