Early Ad Free: Alexandra Feodorovna part 2
In the Season 9 finale, we're heading back to Russia for the conclusion of Alexandra Feodorovna's story.
When we last left our triple-Gemini empress, she'd married the love of her life, survived a coronation disaster, and was already earning a reputation as one of the least popular women in Russia. Unfortunately for Alexandra, things are about to get so much worse.
Was Alexandra a villain? A victim? A loving mother trapped in an impossible situation? Probably a little bit of all three.
So grab a drink and join us for the dramatic final chapter of the last Empress of Russia.

Love this redo!!! So so good! Any chance yall plan to cover Queen V next season?! Or maybe a dive into all her grandchildren!? They are all wild! Also Ella would be a great episode too!
I agree that George V probably was right in not letting the Romanovs come over immediately. The only reason the other family members were later allowed to go to England was because the English people were (rightly) horrified that Alix and the kids were murdered. George absolutely knew he was sentencing Nikolai to dead by refusing them, but no one thought they would murder the women and children. However, Queen Mary saw her chance and absolutely ripped off the Romanov survivors. Many of them smuggled out tiaras and jewels, and Mary insisted they sell it all to her for pennies on the dollar (shillings on the pound?) before she’d allow them lodgings. They had no choice but to accept because they needed royal protection. So she made sure the survivors were always indebted to her so she could control them, and she got all sorts of pretty diamonds for her collection. Elizabeth II’s favorite tiara was one of Nikolai’s aunt’s tiaras. 😒 Sorry for the long post again, I really, REALLY despise Queen Mary. 😂🤷🏼♀️
This was the episode that made me finally sign up for Patreon….I just couldn’t wait for it to appear on the main feed. I hope you guys cover the other Hesse siblings or their cousin Victoria Melita/Ducky eventually!
For everyone who likes legal and media history rabbit holes: Youssoupoff v MGM. The reason for disclaimers and involves Rasputin (and the dumbest old movie I‘ve ever found on YouTube)
I love when summer arrives and the late nights but there is my nerdy side where I'm like "Nooooooooooo! I have to wait till the fall for regular Katy and Nathan episodes!" Nathan's ghost story episode sounds fun, I can't wait. I hope you both have the best summer ever! 😘
