Gagoze, the Oni Deity
Hello my Fans and Patrons!
In the last week, I traveled to west Japan, to visit some major temples to gather Youkai knowledge.
(Though its cost was not paid from income of this Patreon directly, your big supports give me spare money for my life. Thank you so much, my dear Patrons!)
One of it was Gangouji-Temple, which has an ancient legend of the Thunder God and the Evil Oni (Japanese Ogre).
The legend is slightly complicated, but I hope to explain it simple here.
In Asuka Era of Japan(AD 538 - 710 ), there was evil Oni Spirit around the Gangouji Temple, and it murdered many children.
But then, a kindred of Raijin (Thunder God, oh he is like Harara in "Anime-Tamae!") became servant of the Temple, and fought against Oni.
He grappled Oni, grabbed Oni's hair so strongly, finally flayed Oni's scalp and defeated it. He became a Buddhist Monk "Doujyo-Houshi" (道場法師) and well known by his great strength.
But there is a small twist around the legend.
Both good Doujyo-Houshi and evil Oni were called "Gagoze" later.
(Gagoze is sound change of Gangouji)
Good Gagoze is a Oni Deity (Thunder God is imagined also kind of Oni), and in Kanji "元興神".
Evil Gagoze is Oni Youkai, in Kanji "元興寺".
Well, I studied it from a Book and Exhibition of the Temple.
Then I draw a Good Gagoze Deity as female character in "Anime-Tamae!" (Pic above)
As you know, femalization is very popular in Japanese Otaku culture... :D
In addition, there are some legends about females with monstrous strength, who are descendant of Dojyo-Houshi. So maybe Gagoze Deity in Anime-Tamae! is a spirit of such Raijin blooded lady.
I thought it was a good chance to draw new muscular girl character, and drew it!
Everyone can see she has inhuman strength, even can flay skins of Giant Evil Oni by her bear hands!

Big muscular Oni girls, that are easily capable of defeating all kinds of powerful monsters with their bare hands, are incredibly hot to me. Especially ones as adorable as in the picture. Actually it made me think up a scenario where an Oni princess falls in love with "you", and because of the customs of her family she has to hunt a suitable trophy to propose with. She ends up bringing down a massive evil dragon by herself, presenting "you" with its skull as a gift on her return, and the rest of the beast as a feast for your upcoming wedding, having dragged the entire creature all the way back home with her.
Another wonderful character, Rebis! Of course, i can't get enough of muscles & asses and i appreciate all the background info (i'm coming to Japan in 2 months and i love all the youkai, mithology and temple stuff). I hope to see her in further Anime Tamae chapters!
Oh you are visiting Japan? Great! Indeed there were many people from oversea countries at Gangouji Temple. I hope you enjoy Japan and feel atmosphere of Kami, Buddha and Youkai! :D

She is a background setting character now, not planned to appear in the main story so soon... but it is possible in the future :)
Visiting Temples sounds like a great adventure, Gagoze looks Great, Her big veiny muscles and lighting crackling horns makes Her look really powerful!
I like both Buddhism Temples and Shintoism Shrines, visiting them is great experience always! I imagine, she can not use lightning well like Harara, but very good at grappling.

Yeah, as I wrote, she is a kindred of Raijin... so it is very natural. In Japanese imagination, Raijin has very muscular body.
An interesting legend. And more muscle girls are always welcome!
