🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH – ESTABLISHED IN 1985

Did you know that Breast Cancer Awareness Month began in 1985?

The original campaign was launched by the American Cancer Society and Imperial Chemical Industries to help educate the public about breast cancer and promote early detection through mammograms.

What began as a week-long campaign eventually developed into the month-long October observance we recognize today.

2026 marks 41 years since Breast Cancer Awareness Month began!

Every October, millions of people come together to raise awareness, support patients, honor survivors, and remember those who have lost their lives to this disease.

Breast cancer is more than a diagnosis. It affects real people, families, friends, and loved ones.

To everyone currently fighting breast cancer: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

To every survivor: YOUR STRENGTH INSPIRES OTHERS.

To the families who have lost someone: THEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

💗 HOW YOU CAN HELP SPREAD AWARENESS

There are many ways we can make a difference, even outside of the gaming community!

🎀 Educate Yourself: Learn about breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, and the importance of early detection.

💗 Encourage Screenings: Remind friends and loved ones to speak with healthcare professionals about appropriate breast cancer screenings and mammograms.

🎀 Support Research: Consider donating to reputable breast cancer research organizations and patient assistance programs.

💗 Help Someone Fighting: Offer emotional support, meals, transportation to appointments, or simply be there when someone needs you.

🎀 Spread Awareness: Share educational information throughout October and encourage others to learn more about breast cancer.

💗 Show Your Support: Wear pink, participate in awareness events, and help keep the conversation going.

Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference!
