February Update: Poll Results, Release Plan, and Valentine WIP

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who took part in our survey. Your votes really help us choose what to focus on each month.

Poll results and release plan

Here is how the results shook out:

❤️ Top choice: Valentine’s Day TTRPG accessories
This will be our first release for February. We are hard at work on it right now.

🏠 Second choice: Nerdy home decor
Our second February release will be a nerdy home decor piece!

🎲 March Release: New mechanical dice tower
There was a lot of excitement for a new mechanical dice tower. This one will take more serious R&D on our side, but we already have a very cool concept in mind. The current plan is to aim this for a March release, so stay tuned for more previews as we prototype.

Valentine’s Day release progress

We were hoping to have the Valentine’s Day release ready for today. Unfortunately, gear boxes can be quite challenging to design as print in place and fully support free, and we want this one to feel solid and satisfying.

Here is the current concept:

  • A heart shaped box with a lock and key

  • A removable dice tray inserts, with sections for minis and a dice set

  • Swap-able overlays featuring nerdy remixes of Valentine style candy heart phrases

  • Generally a nice gift box for a dice set, or a cute geeky gift on its own

We are in the stage of tuning the gear box and testing print in place tolerances so that everything moves smoothly while still printing cleanly on most FDM printers. Thankfully I think we've finally cracked the mechanism so all that is left is to do some serious decorating!

The goal is to have this go out in the next couple days so you will all have plenty of time to print one up before the 14th!
As we are still in the design phase, feel free to recommend any cheesy nerdy phrases you'd love to see featured on the dice box overlays!
