release schedule change - less exclusives, more main comic
Short version:
Starting next month I will change what the tiers provide.
• €5 tier- exclusive projects will now only happen once every two months. (next one will be in October)
• €3 tier- sketch pages of the main comic will happen in larger batches once every two months consistently (next one in will be in September).
• €1 tier- main comic will be my main priority going foreward
• monthly payments stay the same

Long version:
I ran up against a wall, I spent every month's remaining days recovering from each €5 exclusive project, to the point that I ran out of energy to do even the exclusives. I had to change something.
Lowering the amount of exclusives I make is financially a very dumb move. the €5 tier is the biggest portion of my income. and I'm sure there are a lot of you paying for the monthly reward.
However, financially I'm doing well enough that I can afford to take this change. If you feel it's not worth the €5 I would not mind if you change to a lower tier or unsub. the art will be for free on the internet later anyway.

I have gone over all the options and suggestions given, here are the main ones:
• Have smaller exclusives or take more time doing it - my whole motivation depends on how excited I am for each exclusive. I ride a wave of excitement, if the candle burns out, I grind to a halt. so crunch time and big projects is what allows me to do them.
• Work outside of a monthly schedule (longer months) - Though this would make the most sense as a transaction; you would pay €5 to get one exclusive. I can only see this creating it's own new kind of stress from irregular schedules and payments and this:
So I went with the one option that benefits me the most. Cutting the amount of exclusives in half. At the potential cost of patrons. Going back to the idea that your support is helping me create art for you all, and not so much as direct purchases and transactions.

With a reduced amount of crunch I hope to maintain a reserve of energy. so I can be on top of my game when I need to, and make something extra when I want to! I will be producing a lot more of the main comic with the amount of time and energy I get back from this.
Currently I am out of sketched pages for "on full display", so next month will be focused on getting atleast two months worth of comic pages sketched. And I am looking foreward to it!
edit: you are all wayy too kind!!! and I know many here would stay either way. what I'm worried about isn't anything to do with intentions, theres a normal influx and outgoing of patrons that's directly corrolated to the amount of work I do. And doing less exclusives will mean a lower plateau of income, but there is no risk of dropping below minimum wage.

I totally get feeling guilty for taking breaks, I share that problem. But consider this: We are literally your patrons, as in "Patron of the arts". We don't give you money in exchange for a product, we give you money so you can just live and be creative without having to work other jobs. We are here specifically so you don't have to have a work schedule :D Just live and make your art whenever time, energy and creativity happen to align ^^

I’m glad that somebody who I like their work enough to financially offer support to is willing to take the steps necessary to make sure they are able to stably keep creating. I unfortunately have seen 4-5 creators break down to the point where it isn’t clear if they will continue creating at all like they were before just within the last couple months, so creator burnout trying to meet obligations to something like Patreon or even a regular publishing schedule is definitely something that is happening all around us. I think the vast vast majority of fans would agree we’d rather see a half or full step back than a year or more recovering from burnout.
it's tough! because even if everyone is well intentioned, I can see my income directly connected to how much I produce (just with the influx and outgoing of patrons every month) but I am at a point where I can comfortably lower my income and workpressure together. and thankyou for the kind words!
I'm really proud (or some word less condescending) of you for taking care of yourself. $5 a Month for a fully illustrated 18 page comic is honestly underselling your value, so I'm glad you're taking steps to correct that 💖

I think this is a really smart move for ya. I hope it will reduce the load on you. If too many people leave the patreon because of reduced exclusives you could always setup a gumroad or something like for people to purchase the exclusive comics. As an idea.
I dont think it's at all likely that my income will drop that much. and besides people leaving patreon would not be that high, the concern is more because theres an average number of patrons leaving anyway, and without a source of new comics to pull people in, I would probably plateau on a lower income. but I am not afraid it'll go below minimum wage any time soon
Thanks for the update! I'm on the whatever €5 is in USD (I honestly don't remember). While it's awesome getting a bunch of exclusives, I value your well being more than getting a new comic. You've got an amazing backlog that'll hit the spot every time lol. I will not be decreasing my contribution, and don't plan too any time soon. I'd gotten the impression you'd been burning the candle at both ends to maintain the exclusive release schedule you had been, it's completely alright to reevaluate and adjust your limits and boundaries to better suit you, there will certainly be benefits to all your patrons in the focus of putting together your wonderful amazing main comics (I'm so so excited to start seeing where things will go going forward!!!) And we'll probably get exclusives that feel really special and have the right amount of care and effort poured into them. Artist crunch and burnout is so real and I'm happy you're taking time to recover and figure out how to preserve yourself going forward. To many wonderful months of erotic journeys ahead!

Reducing the exclusives is bittersweet, but primarily I connected with your work by finding the main comics. You have enough different works out there now for people to discover you, bring on the main comic pages!

As a 5 Euro patron I 100% support this change and will not be changing my tier. I *love* your exclusives, but I know that they take a ton of time and energy. This is a great choice. While I love the exclusives, they come around so often that the main comic seems to take forever to progress. I'm glad you're making a choice for yourself. I'll still be around to support.

I've been doing my best to keep stress as low as possible, so thats been going pretty alright so far, it's just that I physically ran out of energy. and with less exclusives and crunch, but more of the other content, I can keep up my energy reserves ¦3
