Tupac Was A Chameleon - I Get Around | The Tupac Chronicles PT6

Welcome back to the Tupac Chronicles! 🎤

For Part 6, we’re diving into Tupac’s “I Get Around” — a completely different side of Pac than we’ve explored so far.

This time around, there’s no heavy message or deep emotional gut punch. “I Get Around” is a fun, bouncy party track built for the club, and it gives us another chance to see just how versatile Tupac could be. Rick called him a “chameleon” in the rap game, and this song is a pretty perfect example of that.

Before we listen, we break down the song and album context, production credits, the many samples that helped build the track, and some of the background behind its creation. Then we watch the music video and see exactly what Tupac was going for with this one.

And as for Corrina’s reaction? Well… this one just wasn’t really her vibe. 😂

We talk about the song’s surface-level, carefree energy, the way it was marketed toward women, and whether “I Get Around” actually works as something of a women’s anthem despite being very much a song about the male perspective.

Not every song is going to be a favorite, but that’s part of the journey. We’re here to experience the full range of Tupac’s music and better understand the artist behind it.

🎤 TUPAC CHRONICLES
Rick & Robert are lifelong hip-hop fans and huge Tupac fans. Corrina is coming into the journey with limited knowledge of Tupac’s music and virtually no knowledge of his personal story. Together, they’re revisiting his music, learning his story, and paying respect to the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur.
