Rap Fan Reacts to Fleetwood Mac's GO YOUR OWN WAY (The Dance 1997) | A Tour Of Fleetwood Mac PT4
After hearing Dreams, it was finally time for Robert to experience Lindsey Buckingham's side of the story.
In Part 4 of Robert's Fleetwood Mac Journey, we're watching Go Your Own Way (Live from The Dance, 1997) - one of Fleetwood Mac's most iconic live performances and one of the greatest breakup songs ever written.
Before pressing play, we set the stage by diving into the history behind the song, Lindsey and Stevie's relationship, the lyric that Stevie Nicks famously hated singing, and just how awkward it must have been to perform a song about your ex... with your ex... for decades.
Then the music starts.
We spend time appreciating just how incredible this reunion performance really is. Twenty years after the original release and ten years after performing together, Fleetwood Mac somehow sounds almost identical to the studio recording. Lindsey Buckingham's vocals are unreal, the musicianship is on another level, and his guitar solo absolutely blows us away.
Along the way we also discuss:
• Why Go Your Own Way and Dreams feel like two people having a musical conversation with each other.
• Lindsey Buckingham's songwriting and vocal performance.
• Stevie Nicks' perspective versus Lindsey's perspective.
• Why Fleetwood Mac was such a unique band and why there really isn't another group quite like them.
• The incredible individual talent inside Fleetwood Mac.
• Why Rumours features so many shorter songs and how vinyl limitations influenced albums during the 1970s.
• Why classic rock bands often let their instrumentals breathe in a way that's become much less common today.
• How astonishing it is that this live performance from The Dance (1997) captures the energy of the original recording so faithfully.
• Billboard success, Spotify streaming numbers, and the lasting legacy of one of rock music's greatest bands.
By the end of the episode, Robert has officially picked a side (for now), ranking Go Your Own Way above Dreams and giving Lindsey Buckingham the edge in this chapter of Fleetwood Mac's story.
If you've been following Robert's Fleetwood Mac journey from the beginning, this episode feels like another major turning point. And if you're discovering these songs alongside him, we'd love to hear which side of the breakup you've always connected with more.

So I am going to start off with the fact that I have never seen this live before. I know the song very well, but this live was like.....holy shit! You can tell she was just giving him all the stare downs, if looks could kill, like...daaaamn! I also noticed she stared him down more than he stared her down, but near the end there, when they were staring each other down, you could literally see flames coming from each of them lol! Also, THAT GUITAR SOLO! Like, hot damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has to be my favorite Fleetwood reaction thus far! I assume you will release the Dreams reaction soon? I noticed you guys talking about it but I don't see a drop for it yet. Awesome reaction though guys, I am literally about to listen to it again lmao!
I juuust started watching and SUUPER apologize if you mention it later in the video..which song was Stevie's perspective again?
Can’t wait to get into the needy greedy next week 😜

And thank you for the Christine McVie love

Mick and Stevie were having an affair during Rumors tour and that is what made it all really awkward back then. Lindsey was steaming by the end of that tour! You could feel it on stage! My sister and I got to see them in concert twice during that tour.
You go Go your own way Glen Coco
Favorite lyric from Go Your Own Way?
Silver Springs is next... are you all ready? 👀
I cannot wait for this! Robert is gonna lose it watching them haha 😂
