Rap Battle Fans React To Taylor Swift's "Actually Romantic" | She Said WHAT?!
Taylor Swift’s “Actually Romantic” might be one of the PETTIEST pop songs we’ve ever heard… and as huge hip hop and rap beef fans, we had SO much to say about this one.
In today’s Hazed Reactions episode, Rick, Robert, and Corrina dive into Taylor Swift’s “Actually Romantic” from The Life of a Showgirl and break down the alleged Charli XCX references, the reverse psychology throughout the lyrics, and why this song honestly feels more like a rap diss track disguised as pop music.
After finishing our Kendrick Lamar vs Drake reaction series (well… almost — Drake’s The Heart Part 6 is still coming), we thought it would be hilarious to follow up Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” with what might be Taylor Swift’s version of a diss track. And honestly? The strategy behind this song shocked us.
We talk about:
• Taylor Swift vs Charli XCX discourse
• The alleged references and contextual clues throughout the song
• Why Taylor Swift approaches beef like a rapper
• Hip hop influences in Taylor Swift’s songwriting
• Reverse psychology and “Art of War” tactics in pop music
• Why diss tracks can actually HELP smaller artists grow
• Eminem vs MGK comparisons
• Rap beef culture vs pop star feuds
• Taylor Swift lyric analysis and songwriting breakdowns
• Robert’s shocked reactions to some of Taylor’s most savage lyrics yet
• Why Taylor Swift’s pen game earns respect from rap fans
This episode also sets up our upcoming Journey to the Eras Tour series, where we prepare Rick and Robert to finally experience the Eras Tour movie with full context, deeper lyric understanding, music videos, visuals, hidden meanings, and emotional callbacks across Taylor Swift’s entire career.
Upcoming series and reactions include:
Taylor Swift Eras Tour prep
Kendrick Lamar GNX reactions
Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl performance reaction
Watch The Party Die reaction
Fleetwood Mac journey
Jack Antonoff / Bleachers journey

I think reacting to my tears ricochet the long pond studio version with the interview would be greta context before the eras tour, so excited for this next chapter!!
I love the shoo wops at the end, so clever
I've always thought the first verse was about Charli and then the 2nd verse was about Kim K. Back in Rep era Kanye drama, Kim sent out Valentine's to all her "haters" and she sent one to Taylor. Kim also had a chihuahua she carried around in a purse. If you look at photos on the Showgirl albums there is one where Taylor is sitting next to a plate of spaghetti. There was viral video going around of Charli and Matty and Matty's fiance eating spaghetti with their hands and it was so gross. Taylor could've had a plate of any food in that pic and she chose spaghetti. Petty Taylor is my favorite Taylor.
Woooo Eras Tour!!! Honestly all those are great options!!! I’ll have to vote on Tupac, Fleetwood Mac, maybe like a Hip Hop Greatest or Hip Hop 101 🤷🏻♀️
Songs to listen to and read the lyrics for: cruel Summer, tolerate it, Marjorie, all too well 10 minute version, the last great American dynasty, cardigan, Betty, August, long live. Music videos to watch: cardigan, 22, blank space, lavender haze.
Can we talk about her “mockumentary” & how she said she hated artist documentaries?!
Love petty Taylor! Such a fun and catchy song especially the bridge!
U need to show them "Better Than Revenge" Original version. now that was petty AF and she did tone it down on Taylor's version.
Fleetwood Mac and Jack Antonoff reviews would be awesome 🤩 You all are amazing and I love your content. 🌟
