Kendrick VS Drake The Beef PT5: "Euphoria" Reaction and Breakdown | She Wasn't Ready For This One!
This series isn’t about us… it’s about Katie.
A Swiftie stepping into the world of Kendrick Lamar for the very first time — and experiencing one of the most talked-about rap battles in real time.
And THIS… is where everything changes.
After days of silence following pressure from Drake, Kendrick returns out of nowhere on a random Tuesday morning with Euphoria — and completely shifts the tone of the battle.
No warning.
No rollout.
Just a statement.
In this episode, we don’t just listen — we guide Katie through:
🔥 The moment the world realized Kendrick was finally responding
🔥 How Kendrick immediately positions himself as the “truth teller”
🔥 The strategy behind framing Drake as a manipulator and liar
🔥 Breaking down double & triple entendres (and teaching Katie how to count bars 👀)
🔥 The infamous “Big Three” section and that YNW Melly reference
🔥 Personal shots vs strategic shots — where did things REALLY turn?
🔥 Kendrick dissecting Drake’s character, not just his music
🔥 The West Coast alignment and “Art of War” approach
We also talk about:
The unexpected cultural impact of this drop
The DMX influence behind “I hate the way that you…”
How this moment redefines the entire battle moving forward
This is a learning moment, a turning point, and honestly… one of the most important chapters in Katie’s journey so far.
And we’re just getting started.
👀 Next up: Kendrick’s direct response to “Taylor Made Freestyle”… and yes, produced by Jack Antonoff.
🎤 PLUS — our next Taylor Swift reaction is coming THIS WEEK from Life of a Showgirl… and you might not expect which track we pick.

If you guys haven't already seen it, you should really check out Josh Johnson's standup set about the Kendrick vs. Drake beef. It's excellent. https://youtu.be/K3uWj2MpydI?si=wYpVEr2KBcXx2JC8
You’re right. Drake’s uncle played guitar on the Al Green song sampled for 6:16 in LA.
Robert’s a little confused about the Puff line. Diddy slapped Drake in a club, and nobody came to Drake’s defense. Robert is referring to a separate incident (which Kendrick brings up later in the beef) where one of TI’s friends pissed on Drake. TI confirmed that story.
I’ve always thought that the lyrics have the line about his “homeboys” wrong. I hear “Met his homeboys, and them type sell their soul, ok.” I think he’s referring to meeting Drake’s OVO crew and not being impressed with them, because they don’t have any self-respect or principles. They only exist to be Drake’s cronies.
To double down on the pacify line would have been to bring up the underage girls (pacifier)
