One thing about Geese I’ve noticed is after their over-saturation of the indie scene, there’s been a big backlash of Geese haters after their guitarist transitioned and they’ve said “Free Palestine, Fuck ICE”. Johnny probably doesn’t remember his friends shouting them out in the episode when he went back to the east coast. I feel they’re like Rocco said about In-n-Out: they’re great but there’s no way they can live up to the hype. I love em, they’re like The Strokes of this generation without the Epstein associated father.

I feel like a band that has a getup and specific visual style kind of like Ghost but is actually heavy is Imperial Triumphant, check them out.

Also since you brought up Sleep i have another recommendation. Listen to the Sunn O))) album Monoliths and Dimensions, if you like that one you could also try their album Life Metal. They're slow burns but definitely worth it.

This a was a really fun one to listen to. Johnny hit the nail on the head with his Pink Floyd analysis, Dark Side and The Wall are the beginner albums and Wish You Were Here is easily my favorite out of all that they did. The industry did Sid Barrett horrendously dirty. I don't blame you guys for not liking the Grateful Dead. Jam bands in general are pretty hit or miss, especially if you aren't too keen on jazz improvisation. Had me dying with your takes on "Stop Making Sense", they were spot on. New Wave is one of those genres that I find a hard time enjoying largely because New Wave artists seemed to act like they were more sophisticated than the punk bands their music spun off from. Speaking of New Wave, I can't take The Cars or Supertramp seriously. The vocals are just too silly. Talking Heads as well, some good stuff for sure but to me their songs are mainly David Byrne ranting in a silly voice. New Wave seems like punks who learned a few more chords, bought some suits from Men's Warehouse, grabbed some synthesizers, and decided to make beep boop music with silly vocals for Yuppies.

Dude in that gundam video Domon made that clip of the pilots the sickest. Also my "i don't get it" band is Nine Inch Nails. Just... Yeah... Do not understand the worship.

Ghost is the type of band people with gothed out Disney princess tattoos recommend.

Was gonna make fun of you for crying over the Gundam anniversary ad, but remembered when I went to see the life-size Gundam at Yokohama, I was in tears hearing the OG Amuro end theme at their Gundam cafe.

Lured me in with dogging on Sleep Token and then proceeded to tear 2 or 3 of my favorite bands to shreds 🤣 Funny thing is, Sleep Token finally made me understand the way people hated the juxtaposition between Ghost's look and sound. Ghost, especially in their first 2 or 3 albums, do have some bangers that are worth checking out. They used to have a much heavier, doom-y sound. Hadn't thought about Joe Cartoon in years! Super Fly and Gerbil in a Light Socket had 10 year old me wheezing and crying laughing.

Also Radiohead's name comes from the Talking Heads lesser known movie True Stories! I like that one a lot, it's an actual movie about small towns, one of John Goodman's early roles

Stop Making Sense is just cool because the music is bangin with a HUGE funk ass band and the sound is uniquely high quality for the time. Otherwise yeah, direction is pretty ass. Camera's just on David Byrne's face for most of it. It's special for not being very special

Just for the record. I’ve listened to Geese and think they are alright, but don’t love them and think they can be kinda obnoxious honestly. However, the frontman Cameron Winter’s debut solo album that dropped, I do unfortunately love so I guess you got me! Honestly Johnny, as a fellow Dylan head, I think you may get something out of it? Radiohead is a top 3 band for me but I don’t wanna be the typical obnoxious Radiohead defender as the fanbase honestly is pretty cringe. Just maybe try listening to In Rainbows… 🥺👉👈
