The Complete Dead Space 3 Timeline

In this episode of Acceptable Losses, we are joined by the Remembrancer, DK, and Kirioth to brave the frozen, necromorph-infested wastes of Tau Volantis as we dissect the ultimate franchise-killer: Dead Space 3. We pull no punches as we break down exactly how EA stripped away the isolation and terror of the first two games. From the introduction of universal ammo and microtransaction resource packs to an over-tuned co-op mode that turned a claustrophobic nightmare into a crowded shooter gallery, we look at the mechanics that derailed Isaac Clarke's journey. But it’s not all a roast. Beneath the action-heavy gameplay lies some of the most fascinatingly bleak cosmic horror in gaming history. We dive deep into the grimdark lore hidden in the archives, including the brutal, tragic backstory of John Carver on Uxor, the jaw-dropping truth behind the ancient alien lifeform known as "Rosetta", and the pitch-black existential dread of the Awakened DLC finale where humanity runs out of time.

The idea of playing the dead space remake and not playing it through in one go is crazy to me.

The moons yeet markers around the galaxy, the markers land and eventually drive the biology there to become a sentient intelligent race, then they drive them to convergence and create another moon, who then yeets another marker across the galaxy and then they wait for it to evolve another race they can assimilate

If anyone is wondering what happened to Levine after Dead Space 2: Severed. They never say. It’s not mentioned anywhere in any Dead Space media what happened to her.

Only problem I have with this so far is saying that Isaac caused a mass civilian car accident. XD He did not, it is specifically unmanned and automatic transport craft which is why they don’t stop for civilian crossing. Forgetting to mention that part makes him sound like a psychopath. XD

The only other recent Dead Space material that came out in 2024 is Dead Space: Deep Cover as while it's an audio drama, it does expand a bit on Unitology and the lore.

As a British Australian Iron Hands player I feel like there's a concerted effort each episode to make sure I spend some amount of time with my head in my hands 🤣 Is there ANYTHING we can do to stop DK "attempting" British accents!?!

Dropped while listening to the other deadspace podcasts. Truely a sign from Altman

I love the idea that "oh the Necromorphs are a messed up version of evolution. So we're gonna release them everywhere because this will 'fix' the markers and the rest of us will go to the next stage of evolution" cause it completely ignores the fact that you are assuming the evolution would be vastly different than a normal human

Sure would have been fun if the main series got remakes and not just the first game
