SUBSCRIPTION BILLING NOW AVAILABLE ON PATREON 𧞠which means more flexibility for YOU!

As of 4 November 2025, Patreon have made it mandatory that all creators adopt and use the subscription billing model. 'Subscription billing' is now the only billing model that they allow on the platform.
When I started out on Patreon back in 2020, they only offered â1st-of-the-monthâ billing model and âper creationâ billing.
And whilst Patreon introduced âsubscription billingâ as an option for creators to adopt back in 2022, I chose to stick with the â1st-of-the-monthâ billing model because I had built my Patreon around this model and because of the logistical challenges that âsubscription billingâ would present.
Fast-forward to November 2025 and it is now mandatory that all creators on Patreon adopt the subscription billing model (we donât have an option anymore).
So whilst this is not a feasible long-term solution for me, I am having to just go with it and make it work in the meantime.
And whilst it presents logistical challenges for me as a creator, it does provide more flexibility for my community! Which is great news for all of you!
SO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD â1ST OF THE MONTHâ BILLING MODEL VS THE NEW âSUBSCRIPTION BILLINGâ MODEL?
Patreonâs original â1st-of-the-monthâ billing model has previously meant that people pay upfront and then their subscription renews on the 1st of each month thereafter, regardless of when they signed up. So, previously, if someone decided to join my Patreon on the 15th of the month, they would be charged upfront and then their subscription would renew on the 1st of the next month and then the 1st of each month thereafter.
Subscription billing is one of the more common (and preferred) subscriptions models out there (think Netflix, Spotify, etc). It is a model whereby someone who signs up on the 6th of a month, for example, will be charged upfront on that date and will next be charged on the 6th of the next month and the 6th of each month thereafterâŚsomething youâre probably much more accustomed to anyway.
SO, WHEN WILL YOU BE CHARGED?
In accordance with a âsubscription billingâ model, your first payment is processed right away and, unless you decide to cancel or edit your membership, you will be charged on the same date of the following month and each month thereafter (if you opt for 'auto-renew').
For example, if you sign up on the 18th of the month, you will be charged upfront and then your subscription will renew on the 18th of the next month and each month thereafter (should you decide to have your subscription set to âauto-renewâ (which is optional by the way)).You can cancel at any time.
Upon signing up to my Patreon, you will immediately unlock access to ALL the content that has been created in your subscription tier since 2020 (and any tiers below the one you subscribe to)!
So, if my â1st-of-the-monthâ billing model was previously a deterrent, it is now abolished! So, come on over and join in on all the nudie funâŚyou know you want toâŚ
KEY POINTS MOVING FORWARD REGARDING BILLING ON MY PATREONâŚ
Patrons who are happy with their current â1st of the monthâ billing model that theyâve historically been on do not need to change a thing.
Patrons who would prefer to be billed on a different day of the month will be able to cancel their membership and sign up on their preferred date.
If youâre new and have a preferred date on which most of your monthly bills come out of your account, you can sign up to my Patreon on that day and have it renew on that day of the month moving forward! Yippee!!
