Update on Membership Pricing for ZZZ & Arknights Mods
Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago I shared some plans about how I intended to structure future membership tiers once I settled into modding for Arknights: Endfield alongside Zenless Zone Zero. My initial idea was to create separate tiers for each game, plus a combined tier for both.
After giving it more thought, I’ve decided that approach would probably make things unnecessarily complicated. It would add confusion for members and also make posting and managing content much more time-consuming on my end. Instead, I’m going to simplify things.
Membership Update
Starting with Aria’s skin mod release in the next few days, the current “Thank You Kind Sir!” tier will increase to $4 per month.
If you’re already a member at $2, you’ll still be able to access and download the mod you’ve already paid for. This gives current members the chance to grab it before deciding whether they want to continue support under the new price.
Originally, I planned for a $3 combined tier for ZZZ and Arknights content. Instead, everything will now be under one universal $4 tier for all mods.
Why the Change?
I want to be transparent with everyone who supports me, so here’s my thinking.
I’ve spent some time looking at other mod creators’ pages (especially on Patreon) to understand common pricing structures. The vast majority of creators tend to have one single membership tier, and it’s usually around $5 per month or more.
I could probably move straight to $5 and still maintain a healthy community size, but my main priorities are:
• Offering good value to supporters
• Encouraging continued growth and new members
At the same time, my analytics show something pretty expected: most people join primarily for the exclusive mod content. However, one of the most common reasons for cancellations is that someone subscribes for $2, downloads the exclusive content, and then leaves.
As my library of exclusive content grows — now including multiple Aria mods, and eventually Nangong and Rossi mods — it makes sense to raise the barrier to entry slightly.
I believe $4/month is still a fair and accessible price while helping support the time and effort that goes into creating these mods.
Some mod creators also sell individual mods separately for a one-time purchase, but that’s not something I want to do. I prefer keeping everything accessible through one simple subscription.
Looking Ahead
Another factor is long-term sustainability. Eventually, there will likely be a saturation point where most interested players in these gacha communities have already discovered the page. I haven’t felt that quite yet (which is awesome), but when that point arrives, the only way for revenue to continue growing would be price adjustments.
I understand that price increases can feel frustrating, and I fully expect that some people may choose to cancel. That’s completely understandable. My goal is simply to find a balance where a large number of people can still enjoy the mods while helping make this closer to a sustainable part-time income for me.
At this point, I’m already putting far more than part-time hours into creating these mods… but honestly, I love doing it.
Increasing Value for Members
Alongside the price change, I want to make the Patreon membership more valuable.
Right now, new character mods (except younger-looking characters) typically release publicly about one week after a character’s release.
Going forward, I plan to extend the early access period for members — most likely until the character’s banner ends. I may still release limited versions of mods on sites like GameBanana early on, but the full NSFW toggle versions will be available here first, essentially on day one.
Additionally, once I catch up on some 1.0 Arknights characters, I plan to start running more regular community polls where members can vote on which characters get mods next — especially characters that wouldn’t normally receive the “new character” treatment.
(And yes, Yixuan will get some love, but a few other characters deserve attention first!)
Final Thoughts
I don’t expect to make any more changes to the page’s pricing structure anytime soon, so you shouldn’t see more long posts like this for a while. I think this setup will work well as a long-term plan.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. It genuinely means a lot. Your support is helping me move toward the possibility of making a living doing something I’m actually passionate about.
My previous full-time jobs were largely in call centers… and I absolutely hated it. Anyone who’s worked in customer service has my sympathy.
I hope for everyone, that once AI inevitably steals your jobs, that you can work doing a passion as well. 🤣😂
Thanks again for all the support ❤️
