Behind the Scenes of Crash Course Geology

Rocks are mesmerizing. Anthropological research suggests that even ancient humans went out of their way to transport special rocks over long distances. And who among us hasn’t done the same?

Rocks contain clues about the past, revealing the secrets of ancient life and the deep history of the Earth. Geology lets us go back in time to discover the dramatic shifts shaping our planet long before we were on it.

But just as much, geology is about the present and the future. It’s about clean groundwater, earthquake forecasting, and healthy soil. It’s about finding minerals for electric cars, and finding rocks to hold excess carbon. Geology is a story that deeply affects us, but ultimately, it’s a story that isn’t about us: It began long before humans, and will end long after we’re gone.

We can't wait for you to see this series about change, transformation, and awe of our world.
