Crash Course Scientific Thinking Has Begun!
For this series we partnered with previous Crash Course Biology 2.0 collaborators HHMI Biointeractive. BioInteractive is a leading provider of free classroom resources and professional development for high school and undergraduate biology educators. They are a part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), a biomedical research organization and philanthropy that supports a vibrant community of researchers, educators, students, and professionals. The team at Biointeractive served as our subject matter experts, guiding us through the series scoping phase as well as reviewing each script and episode screener for accuracy and clarity. Their attention to detail and scientific rigor helped make this series one-of-a-kind!
This series required a lot of graphics and animations to illustrate complex concepts, scientific processes, and experiments. We leaned heavily on our partners at HHMI to make sure we got these right. We met regularly to go over our ideas, review storyboards, and talk through any areas of uncertainty. This insight from HHMI was crucial because, not only did it enable us to build accurate visuals to support the series learning objectives, but it also gave us the freedom to be creative knowing that we had a safety net if we didn’t get it perfect the first time around.
Episode 1 is available now, and we can't wait for you to see the rest!
