Coming Soon: Crash Course Kids Literature

You might remember the Crash Course Kids YouTube channel from a few years ago, when we explored STEM subjects like engineering and life science. And now, we’re back with a brand new series that has more than meets the eye… Crash Course Kids Literature!

In six episodes, Detective Abby takes our 3rd- to 5th-grade viewers on a journey through stories, investigating their characters, plots, settings, and themes. All while running the R.E.A.D. Agency, where she eats desserts, plans a birthday party, and has fun sharing her cases with us.

So, why Kids Lit? While educational kids content has exploded on YouTube, much of it focuses on the sciences (which the CC team loves too!). But that’s only part of a typical kid’s learning experience. To dig deeper into the humanities, we created a series focused on topics that would be covered in a typical language arts course. Our videos will help viewers summarize plots, describe characters, understand figurative language, compare and contrast, and more. We hope that this series proves to be a welcome companion to language arts classrooms, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
