Thank you for posting this for free on here.
28 Weeks Later is still better than Dark Knight
Hail Despot, that was great, thanks. I still luv DKR & Dunkirk & Interstellar but can’t argue with your analysis. FWIW I think the sequence from Mann’s betrayal to the entry into the tesseract is one of the greatest things I’ve never seen put on film. As for Inception & the Odyssey I’m torn. It’s great in this world of slop that someone is trying … but the execution was shoddy (was carried along by the Odyssey broadly in the hope we’d see the real shit go down at the end and was utterly dispirited by the treatment of Telemachus in that fight. Fucking horseshit). Oh, and as an aside, isn’t Interstellar’s score mainly a rip from Akhenatan? I’m not really a classical guy but it seemed like an obvious lift.
Spielberg or Kubrick I reckon would be cool.
This video has no right to be this funny. Also anne hathaway is better looking than Marion Cotillard.
Peak Marion is the superior female specimen.
Gravity rush music. Awesome, underrated series.
Great OST.
to answer the question at the end, I would love a review of every single David Fincher film. He has some really high highs and some very low lows, and I think it would be an entertaining watch
He has a great filmography, even Alien 3 for all its faults is interesting at least. Benjamin Button is probably his worst.
The YouTube bots are at it again. Sorry you’re having so much trouble with this video. It’s clearly protected by fair use but that’s no comfort when the copyright sniffer keep messing with it.
your avatars are great, do you draw them yourself?
I have a graphic designer who creates them.
They sent Cooper to the mission because he had trained for it, and the only person there that actually has flown. The rest have only used simulators. Theyre in a totally distopian future, where the mass public think the moon missions were faked. There's no more scientists left that are younger than Brandt. They can't send info from the pros through the wormhole. They knew the planets were there only by using a telescope looking through the wormhole, not by going through it. There's no way they could know if any signal can get back through. This is why the people were sent and we're not coming back. In the beginning they are talking about the planets looking good, these are just geusses, they wouldn't know till they send the final mission through the wormhole with all the embrios, and also to try and get data from the wormhole. They never went after young Brandt because coppers daughter knew he was coming back, she was waiting for cooper/dad to go and be with Brandt.
They can find planets using math, they don't have to see them. The Lazarus missions couldn't get back due to lack of fuel /resources.
Yeah but come on, who isn't simpuing on Selena Kyle lol, am I right?
The reason the dream isn't dreamlike is simple, the levels are pre-made a d can it be changed afterwards. The part where she's making things change on cue is a test program. This is stated during that Paris scene. I've seen the movie like 30 or more times. I've picked it apart
Those weren't us agents after cob lol, they specifically state area was cobols backyard. The men are from the company that he failed to steal ideas for in the beginning of the movie. There's even an animated short that goes more into thiis
So, I just came here from YouTube when I realized that your video was taken down. I’ll watch it here. Good luck with your edit / claim fight.
Thanks Richard. My dispute was already rejected by Warner and I am reupping the video today.
I didn't know there was a peak Scarlett Johansson she still looks beautiful.
Incredible as always, new member here- keep up the great work!
Thanks for joining.
This video was dropped on my birthday and I had been slowly making my way through it when the fucking gobshites took it down so now I'm purchasing my own birthday gift back from you to watch on a flight to Korea. Cheers.
Happy Birthday! I just left Korea last month. Enjoy your trip!
I’d love to see your David Lynch ratings
Thanks for making this video free to watch I was sad to see it gone
Please review Zack Snyder movies. I don't know how many I've seen (maybe only one), but based on how much negative I have heard about many of his movies, I am very curious why he has so many fans still and keeps getting projects (after all, didn't bro kinda fumble the DCEU?).
I did a review of that Star Wars knock off he did (the name escapes me) in my worst movies of 2025 video. (Rebel Moon!)
In college, some of my friends did a movie night to watch Inception. I saw a video of their reactions afterwards, where they seemed absolutely mind blown. A few years later, my husband showed it to me for the first time. I reached the end and was like, "hmm, ok, that was a somewhat interesting movie", but was left more confused than anything at, not the movie itself, but at how confused it left everyone else. I concluded that either I was smarter than everyone else, or was so stupid I didn't understand the layers of the movie. I might be stupid, but I do think people were way overreacting to how "mind-bending" the movie was.
Spielberg next
Assterclass is prime Despot 😂
Oddly enough I agree with everything the despot said about Inception and still id watch it again right now. I think it’s mostly just nostalgia but that movie still keeps me mostly entertained. Compare that to the depressing, bleak slog that is The Odyssey and it’s like T2 level re watchable.
I have been looking forward to this since it was teased over 2 months ago on a livestream. After the most recent copyright claim, I’m finally doing the Patreon. Hail the Despot.
Thanks Chris. Hail.
John. Carpenter.
So, when will we get Wes Anderson?
I actually like Nolan, but my GOD he has a fan base that thinks he’s Christ himself. Side note - I can only imagine how much effort it takes to script, produce and edit a 4 hour long video and how frustrating it must be to have that video copyright struck just like that. THNAK YOU for the graft you put in, our GLORIOUS Despot.
Thanks Charlie. It's frustrating but honestly it's just part of being a movie YouTuber at this point, copyright has gotten far worse and it happens regularly to almost every film channel I follow.
Despot, Please create a tip jar. You deserve support, but I'm already supporting too many people on a monthly or annual basis and want to cut back.
I'll look into that thanks.
Who's here after it got copyright strikes on YouTube?
Question - - I'll be honest despot. I liked insomnia, especially the music and ending. I also love the dark knight. When I tell you this I'm not trying to detract from your video, but I want to ask how opinions affect credibility. I am a screenwriter so I hold my own taste over fire a lot. I want to ask you if liking a bad or 'bad' movie destroys someone's credibility, in your opinion. Good video, and I love your sense of humor.
No. I like Madame Web; I like Independance Day despite the gaping plot holes and stupid character decision making. Like what you want, but be honest with yourself about its problems. I have had to admit to myself that a lot of the music I loved as a teenager is actually pretty rubbish.
Still love TENET, the gimmick of inverted time is too enjoyable to me, especially in scenes like when the protagonist is fighting himself. I haven't seen his Odyssey, but I think I'd still rather watch Tenet over it. I also respect Jar Jar :3
Nolan's adaptations pain me in particular because they show he's an absolutely abysmal reader. Every Batman character he adapts is flattened to the most boring, surface-level, sauceless interpretation of the material. Even Schumacher's crazy ass understood that Bruce's fear of bats is fear of himself. And also that Two-Face flips his coin because Harvey Dent's obstinate black-and-white thinking and dogged devotion to the law have mutated into an inability to believe there can ever be more than two oppositional choices, and he has a kind of tragic impulse to still fall back on some form of permission structure in order to do anything. It's not even deep stuff, teenagers understand this. And then there are the places where he tries to add depth and just saps the fun out of everything, like giving Joker a point of view on humanity instead of just letting him be a deranged psychopath who causes chaos simply because he finds it hilarious, and the simplicity of that making him Batman's perfect nightmare. It's kind of insane to see a grown man of Nolan's acclaim settling on "oh he chose bats because he thinks that will be scary", "all these villains are just different flavors of nihilist", "Bruce just needs to settle down with the right girl and then he can totally be normal again". Boring, basic, lame
Fantastic video. Over 4 hours long and I still want more! Thank you for the work going into these videos as they are extremely insightful and entertaining.
Outstanding as always despot
Let’s gooooo
Thanks for all the work you put in to make videos like this Despot 🙏 This is why I’m a Patreon member. You deserve it.
To be fair about the hostage hospital in The Dark Knight, Joker said he would blow up a hospital. He wasn't specific about which hospital.
I'm shocked the Despot went so light on The Odyssey. Thought for sure he'd tear the blatant black washed casting to pieces.
What? I described the race swapping as 'disgusting' and harshly criticized the diverse Greeks as immersion shattering.
I am the Despot's most humble and loyal subject
Hey Despot!! I've been looking forward to this one for a while!! Hope all is well with yourself 😁
YESSSSS! GET HIM DESPOT, THANK GOD EVERYONE IS REALIZING HE SUCKS
