Jeffrey Epstein
On January 30, the U.S. Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of new information about Jeffrey Epstein. Among these documents are thousands of new emails detailing Epstein's links to technologists and academics in the world of evolutionary biology, eugenics, and artificial intelligence. This week, Josh and June dig into the history of Epstein's connections with these people and discuss how his bizarre plans for his own offspring reflect the ideas and objectives of the tech natalist agenda.

All this just tells me that Epstein was incredibly vapid and finance-brained. Eugenics doesn't work, this is all just self delusion to justify his and his friends sadism.
Josh when you are in Dublin you have to get a spice bag from Xian Street Food. (28 Anne St S, Dublin, D02 DX39, Ireland)
I also work at a VA hospital and my experience is about the same as Trent's. Department meetings frequently have people laughing about footage from ICE raids and shit (less common after Alex Pretti's murder). I got lucky that I share an office with a quieter somewhat lib leaning guy, and my job doesn't have me interacting with people much, but it's still rough. Really helps getting to listen to this podcast and the others y'all do.
What an episode title!
The idea of large language models has been around since at least the eighties. I can’t remember the details but Adam Becker’s excellent book More Everything Forever, covers the milieu around AI Transhumanism, colonies on Mars etc. A lot about Nick Bostrom. Anyone keyed into that world could have predicted generative AI because the main problem to be solved was lack of compute. Most of Epstein’s “ideas” are him repackaging things he heard from his friends. He’s never the source. Donald Barr, the headmaster who hired Epstein for his first job, wrote a novel called Space Relations about a post human race of decadent aristocrats who keep humans as slaves. According to the Wikipedia summary it has the rape and the forced breeding of teenage girls in a lab setting. It’s either a weird coincidence or Barr hired him because they shared a sexual predilection. Or Epstein just stole his old boss’s idea because he lacked the brain power to light a candle.
My mental health about Epstein is pretty fragile and I’ve been wary of podcasts about him. But I trust y’all! And you delivered an episode that was horrible without being triggering, if that makes sense. Thanks for sacrificing your sanity, Josh.
Oh also stuff like the edge foundation might well have been how he found clients, by gauging their answers to questions or seeing how they reacted to someone saying something edgy.
Hmmm we need to get on with necromancy & drag these mfers into their rotting husks for interrogation
Murray is the name of Brett Gelman's character on Stranger Things. What do the Duffer Brothers know?
I grew up a half mile from my nearest neighbor, but my parents are laid back hippie types so it was actually quite nice in a lot of ways. But on the other hand I live in and raised my kid in apartments in big cities.
REMINDER: WE HAVE A PATREON! ??? This isn't the patreon? I am conphyzt These past few AEONS have rewired my brain into cork board & string. Like I'm thinking the melaminate movie is The Zeitgeist
